This hotel was beautiful and very close to town! Stunning views, comfy beds and great staff. My only complaint is the price, it’s super expensive and maybe not a 5 star hotel for the price but it was lovely and we enjoyed immensely.

Our recent stay at Waldhotel Unspunnen was excellent. The most inspiring thing about this hotel is the balcony view which has stunning scenery and mountains. Our room was very clean. The staff were friendly and caring. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you 😊

Wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel! We travelled as part of a longer road trip and Waldhotel was one of our best stays! Very kind and service-minded staff who both adviced us regarding dining opportunities in the city and even pointed us in the direction of a vet that was open in the weekend when our dog got sick. The room was nice as well, old and classic and located in the most beautiful surroundings. Will definitely come back!

I would definitely recommend the Waldhotel Unspunnen to anyone looking for economical accommodation in Interlaken. The location is a bit isolated, but it's within a reasonable walking distance to Interlaken West station and the shops and restaurants on that side of town. The room was clean and in good condition and the staff was very friendly.

Staff kind and good location to get into town

Great stay and receptionist kindly organised a breakfast bag in the morning to collect as we were heading off early to Jungfraujoch. Although location not in the town, it was an easy 20 minute walk to Interlaken West station. Wouldn’t recommend with all your luggage though!

A really joyful experience of stay, particularly having a delicious breakfast at the balcony of the restaurant with a beautiful scenic view. The hotel is located at the countryside but the path is safe for walking even though you do not drive. Take 20-mins walk from Interlaken West Station to hotel.

Pro: The view from a balcony was breathtaking! Excellent breakfast. Easy to park your car. The room was small and the bathroom was functional (no signs of luxury), but the bed was comfortable and a balcony was a great plus. Con: When the balcony door was open, the highway, though on a distance, was noisy. Highly recommend this place for people traveling by a car.

This is a simple hotel, with a nice staff. Room was small, but typical for Swiss hotels. Breakfast was a full hot breakfast with eggs, bacon etc. I was a single traveler and the room was large enough. It might have been uncomfortable with 2 in the room plus luggage. If I am in the area again by myself, I would likely stay here again.

Property was a little far from public transportation, about 12 minutes walk from the closest bus station and the road had no sidewalk, making it a little hazardous. Wooden floors were squeaky but the hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. 5 stars to the staff.

Great if you have a car, free parking space for hotel guest but it will be quite a steep walk up if you don’t have a car. Staff are nice and friendly. Room is clean and good size. Huge beautiful balcony overlooking The Ruebach beer distillery and a nice view of a nearby village and hill. No air conditioner, you can open the windows and hear all the cars passing by the nearby highway plus the flies come inside the room and in the open breakfast dining area.

Overall a great property. Definitely not a 2 star hotel. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, staff was great. Only issue we had was the location of the hotel. The views are breathtaking but to get to a bus or train station you need to walk at least 10-15 minutes on a road that has no sidewalk /footpath for most part. So, it's little risky. I suggest the hotel to start a shuttle service for a small charge from hotel to the bus stop every 15-30 minutes. It will go a long way and will address only negative point I have for the hotel.

Quiet area in the woods. Very nice terrace which we couldn’t use much since it was drizzling most of the time. Breakfast was very good. We walked down to the village and took a cab back to the hotel. Helpful staff. It’s a bit older establishment. Walls not insulated properly, Floors squeaked a lot. The guest above us kept moving till 2:30 am. Fortunately for us they checked out next day. Front desk was sympathetic. I will definitely stay there again.

No AC, room was hot couldn’t sleep, hotel provided two small fans and asked us to keep windows open for cooling but didn’t help as much, bugs entered since no good screen in windows. Breakfast is average menu doesn’t change. Washer dryer was good, staff is helpful. Over priced paid USD $510 per room per night. Hotel is a bit away from West and OST stations so not walkable must pay taxi (NO Uber in Interlaken) $18 each way, or plan to walk 1/2 KM and get bus 104 between 7am—7pm, not suggested to walk at night since goes through a forest wooded area. Old hotel, elevator sometimes didn’t work. Not worth price paid. Room cleaning service was good, shower is OK, no toiletries except soap provided. Average old 2* hotel with 4* price tag. Don’t book unless you have no choice, my hotel was canceled hence I had to book this at last moment, don’t do this mistake if you have choice. There is a shared kitchen, laundry area which was helpful. Bed could have more pilllows.

The hotel is dated, with rooms requiring a renovation. There is no air conditioning available during summer and opening the windows does invite in road noise from cars along with open invitation for mosquitos and flies. The room we stayed in had squeaky floors. The location is prime and an update to the hotel would definitely attract more guests. The view was fantastic from the room. Check-in experience was great and the staff was super friendly and informative. P.S - had to book in the hotel as a last minute choice, for the price chances are slim that I would rebook.
