Loved the style and staff service. Even if the hotel is in a more remote area there are few things to do around. The helicopter scenic flights from the hotel is definitely unique service.

Highly recommend Hippo Hollow Hotel.
Hippo Hollow was a excellent hotel. Staff was amazing and provided excellent customer service. We stayed 8 nights and after the first day, they knew what drinks we wanted and other preferences. We stayed in a delectable chalet and the room the beautiful, but the view was the best part. We saw elephant and hippos everyday. Wonderful location, 15 min drive to Kruger. Restaurant was delicious.

Excellent place to stay.Close to the Kruger Park.
We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful and the room comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service we received was superb. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make matters more pleasant for us. The one lady in the restaurant,Martha, was a star.She quickly noticed that my wife and I were older people (well on our way to our eighties) and she insisted that we remain at our table whilst she dished up for us. She is an asset for the hotel. The security man at the main entrance was also a very helpful and friendly man. We can recommend this establishment to all and everybody. We'll be back

Very handy place for a stopover en route to Kruger. Nice room, friendly staff. Lovely bar overlooking river and hippos. Fun and safe.

Amazing place, but completely helpless people.
The place is really amazing and is located in a really good area. Also the people that works there is really nice, but they were completely helpless since the very beginning. I've mailed them to ask them if they can help me to arrive and if they could help me with some tours options but they never answer. Once we arrived, every tour we booked trough them was tricky (with the price, if lunch was included or not, etc.) and when we asked them to look for us a shuttle to our next destination, they didn't make a big effort to help us either. I still think that being such a luxury and expensive accommodation, It's unforgivable that they have not taken care of us properly, but if you are able to managed by yourself, 100% recommendable.

Kruger Park Short Stay
Quality 3 star short stay establishment . This is a decent basic hotel. It's good for a 2 or 3 night stay while visiting Kruger Park or the Hazyview area. It's clean, safe and convenient. The rooms/décor are outdated but in good condition. Restaurant is nice with good service and good food and variety. The hippo comes out by the lake 7 -8 pm each night during dinner

Een goed hotel op prima lokatie
Mooie kamer met mooi uitzicht, jammer dat er geen tv aanwezig was maar verder prima. Prima restaurant, goed verzorgd ontbijt en goede menu kaart. Prima tips gekregen wat te doen in de directe omgeving.

when we arrived at Hippo Hollow we got quite a warm welcome only to find out that the reason was that they had over booked and we were the unlucky couple and was told that we had to move to Perry Bridge Hollow. We were told that the reason was a systems error. This is a really bad reflection on your website. I will think twice before using the application to book. I was wondering which friend or family member received my room at Hippo Hollow. What was done was ethically wrong. I am not sure what the rates are and whether we paid extra to stay at Perry Bridge Hollow. I will think twice before I go to any Seasons in Africa Hotel. I wanted to stay at Hippo Hollow not another establishment.

Our reservations department tried to get hold of you before you checked in but failed to do so. We then complimentary upgraded you to Perry's Bridge Hollow which is a 4 star property whilst Hippo Hollow is only rated a 3 star. As advised on check in, our system crashed which caused us to loose all our reservations. We had to recapture all the bookings and our availability on our online sites got effected therefor we were fully booked and we unfortunately had to move you to Perry's Bridge Hollow. We sincerely hope that you reconsider in staying in one of our establishments in the near future. Regards Hippo Hollow Management

Calm resort style lodge
Nicely situated on a river bank and quite close to the southern part of Kruger. We stayed for one night on our way from JNB to a tented camp close to Skukuza. The food and service was good thru-out. The only dispointment was that I (with certainty) forgot a pair of binoculars on the room. When we went back to the hotel. No one seemed to remember having seen it.

Fantastisk hotel. Vi boede i fire hytter i have-området. Hytterne var pæne og rene, og sengene var gode med hårde madrasser. Restauranten serverer dejlig mad, og vi så flodheste græsse på området omkring restauranten flere aftener. Jeg havde læst hjemmefra, at folk var generet af larm fra busser om morgenen. Vi kunne sagtens høre busserne, men det var ikke forstyrrende for os. Hotellet ligger i fin afstand fra Panorama-ruten (20 minutters kørsel til Graskop og ca. halvanden time til Three Rondavels).

Great location with hippo viewing
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with very friendly, warm staff focussed on providing you with an optimal stay and experience of the area. We had a river view chalet which we highly recommend as you can hear and view the hippos some nights and it is very private and peaceful.

Decent hotel
Hotel was good. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was done daily. However, one complaint which I had was that they never replenished drinking water in the rooms. We always had to go and remind them. Another important thing missing was the intercom. If you need service, you need to walk up to the reception. Staff is courteous and helpful.

Very satisfied about this ideal base
Stayed at Hippo Hollow while exploring Kruger and the Panoramic Route by car. The room was very comfortable, the location was easy to find and convenient, and the food was surprisingly good at the restaurant, especially the breakfast. The hotel does get large tour buses, and we found some of the tour group customers disruptive a few times during our stay, but that was not the fault of the hotel. There really are hippos on the property! There is also a nice gift shop on the premises.

Vlak bij Kruger wildpark en hippo's in de tuin
Deze vakantie is er een om te onthouden. Zuid-Afrika is geweldig. Wij werden omarmd door de gastvrijheid van veel mensen. We kregen gevraagd en ongevraagd advies en tips over waarheen te gaan, wat te zien en waar te eten. We hebben het natuurschoon van Zuid-Afrika kunnen verkennen, de wilde dieren gezien (inclusief de big 5), de eerste wereld infrastructuur (wegen, winkels, restaurants, etc.) gebruikt en genoten van prima eten en heerlijke wijn. Nooit hebben we ons onveilig gevoeld. De tegenstellingen van arm en rijk zijn niet onopgemerkt gebleven. We hebben ook een township bezocht bij Kaapstad. Ook daar waren de mensen vriendelijk en gastvrij. Hippo Hollow was onze uitvalsbasis voor Kruger wildtuin en andere trips. Ook hier het gevoel welkom te zijn. Gastheer Ephraim regelde onze trip naar Kruger en de avond van traditionele cultuur. In de tuin aan de rivier precies voor het restaurant van het resort graasde in de avond een jonge hippo. Wat wil je nog meer?

Holiday stay at Hippo Hollow resort
We had a nice stay at the hotel. The rooms are big and comfortable (although a terras would have been welcome). We received by a friendly staff who was waiting for us with keys and with all explanations of the hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is OK and the breakfast is good. One point though: we made twice a reservation for the diner, but it never reached the responsible of the restaurant. Not a big deal as there was place enough to accommodate us.

grösseres Hotel mit Hippo- Besuch
Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Restaurantbereich grosszügig mit Blick auf den Fluß. Abends bewachtes Vorland mit grasenden Hippos (wenn man Glück hat). Pool im Courtyard perfekt für eine Erfrischung. A la Carte Essen war gut- sehr gut, das Buffet hingegen eher langweilig. Die freiwillige Zugabe eines kleinen Frühstücks- togo bei unserer Earlymorning Safari war nett gemeint, aber qualitativ doch enttäuschend (im Vergleich zur sonstigen Küche). Ein guter Ausgangsort für die Panoramaroute (ca. 30 min) und div. Gates zum Kruger NP.

Convenient hotel in Hazyview
We were on our way to a reserve further north in Kruger, so this was just a one night stay. Everything about the hotel was fine. We even saw hippos on the lawn while eating dinner! The hotel caters for groups. A group staying while we were there were quite noisy, but we were tired enough that we slept through the nose anyway.

Hippo Hollow review
My son were there for one night only. We took advantage of the cultural dinner. The dancing and singing was quite good. The buffet was good as well, with cultural choices such as worms, but also typical food such as salads, chicken, beef and lamb.

Le personnel est très gentil. Le petit-déjeuner est à la hauteur et varié. La chambre avec vue sur la rivière est un plus à signaler. J'y retournerais sans hésitation.
