"Booked this property as an overnight stay while visiting the surrounding areas. On arrival we were greeted by the Bartender who showed us up to our room ( or so we thought). On entering it become apparent that it was actually an apartment and not just a room which we thought we would be getting for the price we’d paid. Accommodation was excellent! Lovely modern Kitchen area, spacious living area, leading to a small corridor to the bedroom with a lovely modern en-suite bathroom and a small dressing room. Complimentary breakfast was also provided which was also something we were not expecting. Breakfast provided was selection of porridge, breakfast cereal, loaf of bread, Pack of butter, jar of jam, pack of chocolate chip cookies, 6 eggs. 2pint of fresh milk was in fridge, along with 6 pack of sausages & pack of bacon. Totally overwhelmed by the selection of breakfast options which we did not expect at all! Refreshment tray was fully stocked also. Great stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stay in Montrose. "

"This was by far one of the most unique and exquisite hotels I have ever stayed at. The named rooms were of old historical style beautifully kept and containing all the modern amenities needed. The best part of the hotel was the Great Room - it was GREAT!!! Loved it and spent much of our time in that room while at the hotel - words cant' describe how special it was. Hotel service was impeccable. The staff and management were all extremely attentive to our needs and questions. The food and drinks were visually impressive and very tasty. The salmon and scrambled egg breakfast was the best. Loved their Whiskey flights. I highly recommend this hotel to all, especially those that have a love for historical medieval culture! I give the Maryculter House 15 out of 10 stars! This place will remain a good memory for my wife and I forever. And don't forget to visit the Templar cathedral and graveyard just next to the hotel. Lots of history there. And the river next to the entire place was very beautiful and relaxing. Staying here allowed us to revitalize and immerse ourselves in the true culture of old! Almost forgot, the Molton shampoo and body wash were very refreshing - unlike anything we've ever experienced from a hotel - very very nice. Everything at the Maryculter House was of the highest quality and standards... Absolutely no complaints, except that we eventually had to leave :)"

"Friendly helpful staff and loved the location . Decor a bit bizarre in some areas like random pictures and dining room wallpaper . Staff were helpful but access to our room was difficult due to high number of stairs and number of corridors ."

"This is my second time at Ardoe and I just love it there. You can’t get more picturesque, unique or enjoyable than staying in a small castle. The grounds are magical with highland cows over the hill and sheep grazing down the garden. The staff are lovely and the dining options are wonderful. Soapies Bar is a cozy’s and friendly gathering place. Hope to return again!"

"Check in was effortless with a nice chat with the receptionist. I had upgraded my room for this visit and it was really comfortable with a large bed and a coffee machine, but other than this the standard room I usually have is very good. As ever I used the gym and the pool which are both really good for a hotel. Only problem was, as it's the school holidays the kids were enjoying themselves in the usually tranquil pool,lol. There is an adult only period in the pool from 7pm. Food and service in the restaurant was as good as ever. The hotel also has good size carpark which is charged for but not a big cost. This really is an ideal base for visiting Aberdeen. "

"Staff are super friendly and have amazing knowledge of the local area. The harbour is one of my favourite locations in the world and the Ship Inn harbour view room let me look at it all night. "
