"We stayed at Cornaro Hotel in Split and had a good overall stay, but I think expectations should be set appropriately.
The positives: the rooftop was very nice, the room was spacious, and the hotel was surprisingly quiet despite the central location. Everything was comfortable and generally worked well for a city stay.
That said, I would not classify this as a true five star hotel. In my view, it feels more like a solid four star property. Nothing was bad, but the overall experience, service level, and attention to detail did not match what I would normally expect at the five star level.
One thing that was particularly frustrating: our room included a complimentary bottle of wine, but when we tried to enjoy it on the rooftop, we were told outside food and beverages were not permitted there. Since the wine was provided by the hotel as part of the stay, that policy felt unnecessarily restrictive and took away from the experience.
Overall, a perfectly fine hotel with a great location, quiet rooms, and a nice rooftop, but I would recommend going in with four star expectations rather than expecting a luxury five star experience."
