First class and comfortable accommodation. Although the breakfast was buffet style, hot items were kept hot and continental items were fresh. Parking was ample and off road. I will certainly be going there again.

The property is having a much needed renovation. The beds are very hard, the chef didn’t turn up for the breakfast on the first day. The food in the restaurant was poor and expensive.

The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. The breakfast was self service but a very good variety of continental and cooked. Some areas could do with an uplift but overall a comfortable and well maintained hotel.

Not Nice Experience
Was anticipating mid quality 2/3 star accommodation, found Venue of typical (Average/low cost) quality, room equally of anticipated quality so so far ok. Booked in circa 19:30, nobody at reception and no means of alerting the staff, was eventually acknowledged and was able to book in. While waiting discovered as the hotel was being used for a convention, as such all their was no meals available to other guests, so had to find alternative meal elsewhere/offsite in a location where this was not easy, somewhat remote as their is nothing in local area. Returned to room very late, the first room unpleasantry was the "ancient" mattress/bed with presumably Brocken springs, the second the was the intermittent gurgling noise from the bathroom followed by unpleasant "odour". Investigated and found "gurgling" to be foul smelling effluent rising from from the bathtub plughole. The morning breakfast was also an unpleasant experience, joined approximately half way through the appropriate period so did not expect it to be empty, the servery had a very long que to the hot drinks dispenser only 2x for everybody "1x broken", empty juice dispensers, so essentially no drinks. Although finding various hot plates available, most of the breakfast platters were empty, only scraps of beans, sausages, and watery scrabbled eggs available. The guests appeared to be upset by this and grabbing what scraps they could. Decided to grab a couple of croissants and had a very disappointing breakfast.
