I book rooms for our drivers on the road and try to go by Hotels.com ratings on the hotels. For an 8 out of 10 rating, this particular hotel was a dump. The driver had to change rooms 3 times to get a decent one to sleep in. The first had a dirty toilet, looked like it had been used a lot and not flushed. The second room didn't have sheets on the bed and the third's entry ways was a ll dirt with no curtains on the windows.

The rooms smells horrible! We sprayed febreze and cleaned the room ourselves and the smell doesn’t go away. We found rat droppings in the cabinets. The carpet was stained. The toilet wouldn’t flushed right. The towels smells. Overall not a place I will go back to! The place doesn’t look like the advertisement!

Having space for my family was nice but, the room was so dirty I made my kids wear shoes the whole time. I took pictures of most of the room just to show the front how dirty it was. We arrived late checked in staff was great but when brought up how dirty the room was I feel like she just ignored me. On Saturday our sink backed up we told the front desk and they said that maintenance can’t look at it till Monday. I will not be staying there again it was not worth the money we spent!

The property is being converted to apartments and is barely a hotel at this point. The pool is permanently closed and they no longer offer breakfast. My suspicion is that cleaning staff is also limited, because it was immediately obvious that our room had been smoked in (strong marijuana smell) and that the beds had been made but not cleaned (significant white stains on the box spring of one bed that looked suspiciously like a bodily fluid). The night manager Tony was fortunately very helpful, and seemed to be well aware that this property no longer matches the listing. He was up front about the pool and breakfast and allowed us to cancel our reservation after viewing our room. I feel bad that the staff here are being stuck with guests who have been tricked. Maybe this was a nice property in the past, but it isn't any more. Beware of the attractive pictures and price, because this hotel is not what it appears to be from the listing.

NEVER AGAIN!!! My family booked the Sonesta five We were at the hotel by 10:30pm. When we found the registration office, they were closed with a note on the door saying to “ring the doorbell for after hours service.” Well, the door bell was ripped off the wall. There was an after-hours emergency number that was posted so I called it. I tried 3 times and it went straight to voice mail, but the mailbox was full. I called Orbitz while my wife continued to try the after-hours number. Orbitz answered and attempted to reach Sonesta with no luck. They checked the Sonesta website that said they had 24-hour front desk service. In the meantime, someone answered the phone on the after-hours number. My wife advised that we had a room booked for eight days and the maintenance worker said she would try someone else then hung up. It was 4th of July weekend and we had no room. The maintenance person text my wife and asked our last name which she promptly gave. The maintenance person said they did not have a reservation for that number and to wait until the morning to sort this out. We had nowhere to go. So, we texted back with their reservation number, but she stopped responding. We found out the next day that the front desk simply did not want to come back and check us in.

The most shocking thing about this property is that they couldn't provide a key to my room. Every time I left the room and wanted to get back in I had to go to the front desk and ask someone from the front desk to let me in. Employees were plenty friendly each time but they seemed clueless as to when the lack of keys/cards problem would be fixed. Constantly having to help guests get into their rooms meant that the front desk often wasn't manned so I had to wait for assistance quite a bit. One morning there was a broken glass bottle just outside the pool area that I wanted to tell them about but for a long time no staff was around. My room itself was spacious and had several appliances in it that theoretically would make for a nice extended stay. Unfortunately it was much less clean than any motel room should ever be. Carpets were stained all over the place and there was even a sizable wet spot in the floor so apparently housekeeping doesn't vacuum between guests. The prior occupant left dirty socks on the chair that staff never noticed before I checked in. Breakfast was extremely disappointing as there was no hot food and only coffee/water to drink. The food options were limited to yogurt cups, Nutri-Grain bars and frosted Pop-Tarts but with no toaster for the Pop-Tarts. The washing machine for my laundry was fine but the dryer didn't work that well, which forced me to get creative hanging my clothes up to get them completely dry. Stay far away from this place!

Sonesta apparently sold this property. It is in the process of being converted to apartments. Hotels.com still showed it as hotel with full amenities. Pool was closed and there was no breakfast or maid service.

Was travelling from Canada to Minnesota, booked this hotel due to us travelling in a group of 6.. No hot water available for the two days we stayed, pool was green and inhabitable, phones did not work in hotel rooms. Phone number listed did not work to contact the hotel desk. Attendant is not 24 hours like advertised.. When I voiced my concerns the lady at the front stated that the pump was broken in the pool and had been for quite some time, they don’t have phones in the rooms (they did have 2, neither of which worked when trying to call the front desk), the buildings were built in the 80’s and there wasn’t much she could do. But she would inform maintenance that the hot water tank was also out in our building.. she said they were changing to extended stay, and apartments so not much she could do. Disappointing stay. Area was dirty. would not recommend. The price is not reflective of such poor lodging. Save yourself the hassle!

Not clean at all . Carpet and floors were dirty . I asked for a broom and dust pan to clean myself but the staff didn’t have one available SMDH!! WE were there for five days and couldn’t get any clean wash clothes .. we had to go to the Walmart up the street to purchase WASH CLOTHES OMG!! Never again !! Just tear the place down !! I was told sonesta is switching this property over to apartment .. HURRY UP geesh

The price, location, and size of our room was good. However, we had no hot water the whole weekend, no power cord for the living room tv, no breakfast like advertised, everything was very sticky and dirty. Our feet were black from the carpet. Yoi can tell it used to be a smoking building but they never did a deep clean. The railings, counters, walls were sticky. Burn holes all over the carpet and some of the furniture. Positives: Taylor at the desk was super friendly and kind when i complained of all the problems. She tried to have maintenance get a power cord to the tv to us but didn't hear anything. The size was great for our large crew with an upstairs!

I’ve stayed here four or five times in the last ten years. This was my last. It’s gross, feels unsafe and is a terrible experience. There’s another hotel, for about the same price, just 300 yards away. Stay there.

This place left a lot to be desired and has really gone downhill since we last stayed here six years ago. They list complimentary breakfast on their website but there was no breakfast available. The front desk clerk said she'd meant to take that off their website for a year now. The pool also was also closed off and the place looked a little rough. Lots of stains on the carpet, the toliet didn't flush well, and there was a strong freshening odor that seemed to be trying to mask a musty odor in the room.

Room was nice, clean, everything that was listed. Suited our needs. Had I done a bit more research would have discovered the rooms were accessible from outside. My travel companions weren't so keen on the stairs to get to the room, but considering most of our stay they only have to travel up them once a day was ok. The only negative I would give is the shower/tub drained slowly. By the end of the shower I was standing in a couple inches of water.

We've stayed at a Sonesta before in St. Louis and really liked it. This one however seems run down. Our keys didn't work when we got to room, front desk fixed that right away. Room itself looked like it hadn't been used in awhile. Everything was unplugged. Air conditioning didn't work right. Pool was closed. Kids were screaming outside until almost 11pm. Only good thing about the stay was that I used points to stay there. So sorry I wasted them on this property.

We tried to check in just after mudnight. Nobody working there to check us in. We rang bell as instructed, knocked, rang, called, rang again. We were exhausted and extremely upset!!! Took us another hour working with Expedia to get another hotel. No excuse for this! Surely you know you have another guest reservation that night. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!
