"Seems like it’s all new, so it’s immaculate. I liked the bed but my husband didn’t. Shower had very little pressure. With this new hotel, the shrinkage of the pool size to minuscule makes it useless for adults. The gym was great with brand new treadmills and steppers and a good sized space. Breakfast area is nice but options were less than some places. It was also expensive compared to other local hotels. Not sure why. It’s close to the road so there was some noise from that."

"A unique property — a boutique hotel converted from a 1921 junior high school. Large spacious rooms with 15 foot vaulted ceilings. Staff are very friendly and attentive, and non-intrusive. It's central, just a couple of blocks away from Broad street and Main street. There's free self parking on the street outside the hotel, and it's a 12 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride to Grinnell College (there are free-to-borrow bikes available in the hotel). Best hotel in and around Grinnell by a country mile. And so it's hard to book rooms whenever there are events at Grinnell College (have to book weeks sometimes months in advance)."

"Did not use pool or hut tub, so can’t comment on those, but room was clean & beds were comfortable. Breakfast was quite good with lots of options (mini omelette, sausage, yogurt, waffles, etc) including fresh fruit. Only problem - if you come with a trailer call ahead about where to park!! The lot only has one entrance/exit & you can’t loop around the building."

"Have family in Oskaloosa and stayed here last weekend helping them at their house. Was very impressed with the property. Room was clean, smelled good and had recent updates. Comfortable too. Would stay here again."

"This is an older hotel but dont judge a book by it's cover. The room was clean ( no carpet!)and just what we needed for a quick one night stay. The staff was nice. The only thing I could complain about was the washcloths were on the old side."
