We got a room overlooking the river and garden. The room was very nice and updated. It came with a refrigerator and microwave, which is always handy to have. Easy access to the room from the parking lot.
The view was beautiful.
You can ask for a non-pets room if you are severely allergic. We didn't know this, and we both have some allergies, but the room was clean and we didn't notice it at all (assuming pets had been in the room).

The Grand Hotel is truly grand. Beautiful lobby, very nice staff, clean rooms, easy access off I-5 (but no noise), free and ample parking. We will stay again if any future trips to the Portland area are planned.

The breakfast far exceeded our expectations and was amazing. The staff member that was in charge of the breakfast was friendly and he offered to make us things that they were out of even though it was close to the end of breakfast. Small breakfast nook with standard continental breakfast fare. Outside seating area with great views. Driveway potholed and jarring. This likely keeps speeds down to the benefit of the homes along the down hill side
