Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway, Arizona hotel rooms at the Independent

"Room needs attention to detail but was decent. Breakfast was really good we enjoyed it."

"As always. Room is clean . Its my 4th time I believe and this is one of my favorite hotel in Tucson."

"We stayed in a “suite” at this location recently. I will start with the pros about our stay: the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was seamless. There were cookies at the front desk. Common areas were all clean and maintained. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety and coffee service was always available. The room was adequately clean. Cons: our suite wasn’t much of a suite. It had a separate sleeping room/sitting room but the layout of both rooms was very narrow. In the bedroom there was a very noisy air conditioning unit inside the wall with a large vent that made it seem more like the room was designed to a mechanical room. The closet was very small. There wasn’t much space to walk around except to go around the bed. The one window in the room was covered with three layers of drapes and when opened all there was to see was two large ac units and behind them was a type of privacy screen that “separated” our room and the outdoor courtyard. The window didn’t seem to be very sound proof because we could hear anyone who was out in the courtyard, morning and night. The shower only provided a light trickle of water, no matter how many different settings we tried. The sitting area had comfortable furniture but was very worn. The whole suite seemed very worn. Even the bath towels were all frayed on the edges. No charging ports anywhere. There is definitely room for improvement and updates needed. "

"The hotel is very nice. Pool was wonderful. Entrance and Paul and "C" were wonderful. They made us feel very welcome. I was surprised that there wasn't a place to put my luggage. Had to put everything on the floor. The A/C unit was not great. Most places you can turn on the unit and have the fan on and set the a/c temp for something reasonable. But, the thing turned off completely. very quite then it would come on very loudly and get very cold. Didn't sleep well at all.. "

"Breakfast 6-10, when down there at 6:00 and all you heard was the sound of crickets. Not a thing was set up for breakfast. Nobody there. As I was leaving to catch a flight at 6:30 the person was just setting up. Whoops. Too late. Is Breakfast served at 0600 or is it more like 0640? This place is no better than any of the other well-worn hotels on Tucson Ave by the airport."

"Room was clean but super tiny. Area is sketchy, Pool Under construction, be honest it’s still dirt. I’ll do better research next time. "

"My first time there and we loved it! As we walked in we were greeted by Jr. who was beyond helpful walked us through all the property amenities. Our room was very nice- I was very impressed. The pool and arcade were of course my daughter’s favorites. Parking is gated which made me even more comfortable. We will be staying there again and I will be recommending The Kennedy to my family and friends. "
