This was one of our favorites on our Great Lakes road trip. We are a family of 6 and finding accommodations that aren’t insanely expensive can be difficult. Everything about this place was great. Locations, cleanliness, beautiful surroundings, a caring host. Would definitely recommend and my wife is still obsessed.

The staff was extremely helpful! We needed a late check out and an early check-in since our washing machine flooded our house and they were very gracious in helping us meet our timing needs. The property is beautiful as well and perfect for a dog. But, I can't stress enough how helpful and kind the staff was.

Perfect spot for our mini vacation, loved the size and the amenities of the property. Very cute and close to town. Wish there was one more chair, only 3 chairs inside and outside for a space that fit 4 comfortably. Thank you for the great communication.

Staff was responsive immediately. Cold air worked great. Only complaint is the shower water got cold within 5 minutes and there was no freezer which I hoped for. There is also a $100 cleaning fee I must not have seen when booking. Otherwise, nice place to get away for a couple days

The place was clean and had *almost* everything we needed. I thought the fridge would have a small freezer for our ice packs. We wanted to be able to pack a cooler bag for the day but had no way to keep our ice packs frozen. I also would have liked some basic instructions for the washer/dryer unit. We would definitely stay here again but we would choose a unit not so close to the hwy.

Pros: Last minute availability, great location, hiking trail to small waterfall behind the unit, comfy bed, dog friendly, clean bathroom. Cons: Floor and furniture were sandy, pull out couch didn’t have a sheet, pull out couch uncomfortable (thin and springy), not much of an outdoor seating/fire pit area. The studio units are really 2 person units IMO, though they technically sleep 4. They only have 2 plates/bowls, 2 outdoor chairs, etc. They are very small, so anything more than 2 and there isn’t much room to move around. They are nice and mostly clean (pretty sure housekeeping forgot to sweep and the furniture was also sandy). This is a good landing base if you just need a spot to sleep and don’t plan to spend a lot of time there. Make sure to read the amenities so you know it’s not a fully equipped kitchen. FYI, it does have a toaster. Note to management- A mat at the front door would go a long way at keeping sand out of the rental. Also, please add 2 more plates and bowls.

This was a great place for us while we explored the Pictured Rocks. It was clean and quaint and had all the basics. Very simple, cute decor. I will say there is quite a bit of road noise, even if you're in the second row, as you are right off of a busy road. The trails on property were nice but it was a little frustrating there was no indication of length or difficulty of trail - not too concerning for us as we are up for a little walk but I would worry about someone with mobility issues. Also, once making it to the firepit it was clear it has not been maintained - the lighter didn't work and the area looked a little neglected overall. Cute idea, poor execution and maintenance. Also, quite sure the fridge in our cottage was technically a wine fridge as even at its maximum coolness it was still not keeping things cold and we actually had to end up tossing a few things as they had spoiled. We had requested more firewood for our pit and were told it was coming later that day but it didn't arrive for another day. Don't get me wrong, this place was great for all the basics but definitely not the place if you are high maintenance or expecting "above and beyond."

We booked a suite not realizing that the suite do not come with the kitchen/stove area. They were easy to accommodate and get us upgraded to the cabin that would allow us to store and cook all the food we brought. They have a beautiful waterfall right behind the property that you can actually go right under! They have a giant hiking trail as well. It’s just enough out the city but not to far where my husband and I biked into town and explored as well. The personal fire pit out front made the cold night warm. Along with having centralized air and heating was amazing. Very clean inside, no issues with anything. They provided Kcups for coffee, bathroom soap essentials, and even a lighter to get your fire started. I loved the giant windows to view from but also that they had shades for privacy. Overall this cabin experience at explore made our trip to the U.P peacefully at home.

Long weekend trip

We went up to see the pictured rocks and this looked like a great place to stay, which it was. The cabin was very clean and had great amenities. It was easy to find, and communication with them was excellent. The beds were a little hard, but not so much that it stopped us from getting good rest from all the hiking we did! The firepit and short trail to a secluded waterfall was an awesome perk!
