Going in I knew this was going to be a lower-end stay. I wanted to be on the beach for a few days, and hotel prices are through the roof right now, so I bargain shopped. Well, this hotel was awful! Mostly everything in the room was rusted or broken. The carpet was so disgusting, I walked around in my shoes the whole time. I’m pretty sure there was mold as I woke up the next morning with a sore throat and sinus congestion. I debated about just going home at that point, but I felt so crappy and didn’t think I could drive for 4 hours. I stuck it out another night. Spent most of the day on the beach feeling like crud.
Positive things: on the beach. The office workers were very nice. Because there wasn’t any coffee in the room, first time I’ve been in a hotel that didn’t have coffee, I went early in the morning to get some. When I came back, my room card didn’t work. An employee was called to open my door, this was at 6:00am, and she did without grumbling- very professional. Also, the sheets on the bed seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the Roku tv was nice - even though the internet was spotty.
Overall, very disappointed. Lesson learned. If I don’t want to spend the extra money on a decent hotel, maybe don’t go. Wasn’t worth the money I did spend.
