The Shelby is a great hotel. Be advised this is not a 5 star hotel! This small, boutique style hotel has great vibes and friendly staff. The overall hotel still could use some upgrading, but i will definitely be back!

Nice property and rooms. Right on the beach with super easy access, and in front of a less busy part of the beach. The restaurant on site also had good breakfast and dinner food with kind staff. Pricing of the food was also very reasonable and worth the food.

It was a great place to stay . The ocean front was worth it but , get a hi higher floor for a greater view. On a plane there is you just gotta keep up with the housekeeping to give you towels and toilet paper lol but that was it..

This was our first stay at this hotel, and we absolutely loved it! Our room was beautiful, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and feels fresh, modern, and very comfortable. It is definitely one of the best hotels in Myrtle Beach. We would also like to thank the gentleman at the front desk. He was incredibly polite, welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We truly appreciate his kindness and excellent customer service. We will definitely be back!

Fine stay for the price. They’ve done a nice job modernizing an old property. Parking can be a challenge. Being on the main strip, there’s myriad options for mediocre food and beach trinkets. I didn’t use the pool but it looked modest for pool lovers. The beach outside the hotel was nice.

The only thing I have to say is that we checked in about 11:30pm Friday night the lady at the desk, was not very welcoming maybe she had a bad day. But over all we had a great stay. Rooms are clean and pool area is clean.
