"This was my favorite accommodation in Japan. It was very cozy and made me feel home. We had the Sennari room. There were 4 beds in two rooms but we only used two. There was a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink with dishes/soap, washer/dryer, kitchen table, sofa. It was two levels with bedrooms upstairs. We never saw our host. It was self check in with a code. "This was probably the best hotel I stayed at during my Japan trip! The location was excellent — an easy walk to the morning markets, old town, restaurants, and everything I wanted to see in Takayama. The room was very comfortable, especially the large bed, and I loved having a washer/dryer combo machine right in the room. After traveling and walking so much every day, it was incredibly convenient and worked surprisingly well. One of my favorite touches was the relaxing foot bath area, which was perfect after long sightseeing days. The onsen was also wonderful and made the stay even more special. I also enjoyed the hotel dinner buffet. There was plenty of food, lots of variety, and everything was tasty and well worth the price. Overall, this hotel had all the comfort, convenience, and amenities I could ask for. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting Takayama!"

"The rooms were lovely. Unfortunately the toiletries are not in the room only in the onsen which I didn’t find ideal. The garbages in the rooms are really tiny and I’m all for sustainability but this doesn’t really make a lot of sense when you’re catering to travellers in a City that doesn’t provide garbage facilities leaving them no choice but to bring it back to their hotels. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with really wonderful staff. I just wanted to point out a couple things that could use tweaking. "
