Imagine staying in a tree house (not actually) on a beautiful cliff overlooking the blue ocean surrounded by friendly people and that’s the best I can describe it. We’ve been multiple times and loved each time. All the guests seem to love it too. It’s a relatively quiet chill place. Many catamaran excursions go to the area off the coast because it’s so amazing.
Getting there is interesting as it’s in the West End of Negril about 1.5-2hr from MBJ airport. We’ve taken the small plane, car transfer, and rental and each has pros/cons. The plane is best and most expensive ~350-400/pp, the private transfer is ~200-500/couple, the rental car is ~70/day but the most stressful for some not used to dodging potholes, people, animals, bikes, cars all sharing your lane while driving on the British side of the road. Beware many credit card rental car insurances exclude Jamaica.
Wow, what an incredible experience. The most magnificent clear blue water added an incredible panorama to the beautiful location the Caves offers. Endearing staff who really care that we enjoyed our time. Highly recommended resort.
This was a magical vacation at a very special property where you are made to feel like family and treated like you are the only guests there. Food was so delicious, fresh and fed the soul.
Staff are all so kind and personable.
We are already planning our trip back, if you don’t want a typical big resort vacay stay here.
This was one of the best and unique resort experiences I’ve ever had - the geological caves on which the hotel is built are fascinating and impossible to replicate - it’s intimate and staff are attentive and personable - the value for our all-inclusive stay was very good - whilst deliberately rustic and understated, rooms may need some refreshes eventually and a small gym would be a great addition
My fiance and I spent 5 restful nights at The Caves over Christmas and cannot wait to return. My third time to Negril and his first, we were both impressed at the quality across the board. The service is outstanding and the staff are so friendly and considerate. We loved how private our trip felt and had so much fun jumping, snorkeling, kayaking and lounging by the sea. Every meal was delicious and we definitely recommend the private cave dinner and massages. 10/10 would recommend, will return.
This hotel was on our radar for years. We finally made it happen and honestly, we did have sort of high expectations because of the reviews and pictures. I can say without hesitation The Caves exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere and location is even more beautiful and romantic than we could have hoped for. The staff were amazing and the food was the real highlight. Each meal was excellent and the dinners were exceptional. I can not more highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Jamaica and looking for a special getaway with a partner.
Rooms are unique, the views are awesome, meals were good.

We absolutely loved the atmosphere and level of service. Everyone we dealt with was first class!
Beautiful resort and a place you can truly relax. They make you feel like you’re staying at your own vacation home.
Top notch food! Welcoming and friendly staff. Amazing views. Thrilling caves and cliff diving. Beautiful water. Great place to relax and have a well deserved vacation
This is our favorite place on earth. We honeymooned here and hope to come back to visit every 5 years or so. It's paradise. Quiet, peaceful, organic...such amazing natural beauty, amazing food and AMAZING staff.
My stay here was exceptional. They go above & beyond to take care their guests. Breath taking views, great food, pool & hot tub . There’s no more you can asks for. Don’t hesitate just book!
Beautiful hotel, unique and quiet. The food was good, but it was unclear until day 5 we could ask for specific meals. The thing I liked least was that the website said taht ANY BOOKINGS made through 12/22 would received afree private dining experience in the cave, but they cgarged us $150 dollars anyway.
The Caves was a wonderful setting to relax and unwind. We stayed in a second floor room without a balcony, but the ocean view out of the large window was so perfect I didn't miss having one. The room was spacious and comfortable. The swimming was excellent and unlike anything I have experienced before. Deep water comes all the way to the cliffs, the waves are very gentle, and there are two caves that you can swim into. The water is clear and in early November, comfortably warm.
We just got back from one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken — hands down. If Jamaica is on your radar, do yourself a favor and look into The Caves before you book anywhere else. This hidden gem, part of the Island Outpost collection, is perched above the Caribbean with views that are absolutely breathtaking. It feels like a dream — colorful cliffs, turquoise water, and sunsets that don’t even look real.
The staff? Incredible. Warm, welcoming, and truly next-level in making you feel at home. We did yoga with the most unreal backdrop — I couldn’t hold a pose to save my life and even toppled over at one point, but it didn’t matter. That view makes everything better.
And the food… wow. Easily the best we’ve ever had at any all-inclusive resort — fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Pro tip: there are no TVs in the rooms (though you can request one), but honestly, you won’t miss it. The real show is outside your window.
This trip was soul-soothing in every way, and we’re already dreaming about going back.
Un souvenir inoubliable : tout etait parfait. Un lieu unique : site remarquable avec accès privé aux grottes pour nager, piscine avec vue sur le coucher de soleil, tres bonne table, personnel attentif et accueillant. Chambre tres calme. Un petit coin de paradis.
We had the most amazing stay at the Caves, Negril. The service was phenomenal, and we made longstanding friendships with most of the staff. Obrian, Randy, Brad, Zoom, Jamoi all went above and beyond for us. Obrian was the lifeguard and took us cliff jumping, kayaking, and snorkeling every day. He is an amazing individual. It was a blast, and we made a new friend whom we will keep in touch with! Randy, Brad, Jamoi, and Zoom took care of all our food and alcohol and were so friendly and cool. They are truly genuine people who cared about our experience at the resort. The food was amazing and changed every day. Everything was sourced locally, and you could taste how fresh the food was. The service was very classy, and each night felt like you were at a 5 star restaurant. The caves dinner that you must pay for was worth every penny. It was a magical experience that is unlike anything we have ever experienced. The night was once in a lifetime.
The drinks were top shelf, and you could pretty much request anything you wanted. The cuisine was broad, and you could specifically request your meal, or have more traditional Jamaican food. Our room was private and large, with a great shower. It was so nice to fall asleep listening to the waves crashing into the caves below us. Each day was a new adventure, and we were never bored. This is a unique place that caters to anyone’s needs. It can be adventurous and active, or as relaxing as you want. It was amazing!!
