The room was clean but awful the curtains torn & old & shabby for being in the USA & NY to say the least I had no heat in a 49°temp the unit didn't work just kept blowing cold air & couldn't be turned off so I had to unplug it. Nothing to make a cup of coffee despite having my own general area clean & staff pleasant & professional Oh no general TV service that sucked bc I like to watch the news.

Awful

It looks nothing like the pictures. Area not family friendly. Turned up at 10.50pm room not ready asked to wait 15mins. Receptionist uninterested and sat behind perplex glass. Looked more like a hotel that people stay there as their home. Did not stay found somewhere else. Strong smell of cannabis. Asked for refund not sure will receive it. Not worth the money or stay.

Okay where do I start??? Well I looked online before making my purchase. I pulled up all the pictures of the hotel and room online. I was able to see how nice the rooms were. I also liked the fact that online it said that the hotel provides a shuttle to and from JFK airport. I was really thrilled to make my reservation and not have to worry about a ride to and from the airport. Once I arrived and called the hotel asking them how do I get in contact with their shuttle. I was told there was no shuttle. Once I used a taxi to get to the hotel I mentioned to the owner and she kinda laughed and said she doesn’t know why they have that online. So I let that situation go and just wanted to get my day started. Once I got to my room I noticed that it wasn’t clean. The floor needed to be swept, the walls were nasty, the bathroom was also nasty as if the shower wasn’t clean ever. I asked for room service to come clean my room and was denied. I later saw a roach in my bathroom and couldn’t believe it. I asked to get a refund but was denied and told the room was none refundable. I would never recommend this hotel ever. I noticed on the sliding door the hotel was given a D for multiple violations. I am upset at Expedia and hotel pergola for even saying they are a 4 start hotel. I would like to have a refund back. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that was ever that bad. I don’t usually right bad reviews about hotels but people need to not to book a reservation through Expedia for hotel Pregola.

I loved everything from the interior of the Hotel; originally booked the hotel because of a long layover for JFK airport, my flight was cancelled and the cost was cheap. However the problem is the neighborhood the Hotel was in was kinda sketchy. There were drug dealers, alcoholics, and shouting homeless around the outside area. At one point I almost wanted to call the police, and I felt at risk of being robbed while taking a stroll. I secured my phone, wallet, and passport that I had on me as an extra precaution. Transportation wasn’t good, had to walk 4-5 blocks for nearest MTA (both subway and buses included) Glad the staff was friendly tho, eased my concerns a bit. Food options around the area = very limited.

Not the most pleasant Hotel Pergola

We had to book a last minute stay for a family emergency. Check-in was a breeze and the staff is friendly. However the rooms were beyond HORRIBLE!!! The rooms were actually a nice size but that was about it! The bed sheets and the comforters all had holes in them and appeared dirty with stains! The bathroom was overall dirty. The shower was stained and dirty! The towels may have been cleaned but they were all stained and looked dirty. Mold on the ceilings. While a small issue there were no trash cans in the room except in the bathroom. That was the first night in room 408! We tried tho leave and get our money back but they wouldn’t accommodate us! So the next day they gave us a new room on the first floor which I admit was a little bit better but the room still had some of the same issues with holes in the sheets and dirty towels. Like previous reviews parking can be a challenge but the area is not bad.

The hotel isn't bad in terms of cleanliness, but it's very bad because it doesn't have parking, which is risky when you have to move your luggage to the other side of the street. I had a wonderful night and a good night's sleep.

Room was in poor condition, AC very noisy, blankets with burn marks, bathroom with hairs everywhere. Smells weed for all the place. Cleaning personal doing "stuffs" in corridors and side rooms at 1 am and listen music! Staff in reception were nice, and gave ideas for eating nearby, internet is good. Neighborhood not bad, didn´t see anything weird as other reviewers said.
