I was in NY for 2 nights on my own and the Lamartine Chelsea was perfect. I was there for a concert at MSG and it was only an 8 minute walk. Times Square was also in walking distance. I felt safe and my room and all the facilities were clean.

Overall, my stay here met my expectations for what staying at a hostel and sharing space with other guests would be like. Your mileage may vary based on who else is also a guest at the time, with regards to noise levels and cleanliness of shared bathrooms, but I had a great stay. I came into town for work and knew I wouldn't be spending a ton of time in a bedroom, so the space and ease of access exactly fit my needs. I'd stay here again if I get another opportunity to visit NYC!

The space is just what you need in NYC! It’s little, but this is a friendly budget for this city. In my casé bathrooms were primarily clean, not too much noise, the cleaning staff around was friendly, and has a very nice outdoor area where you can hang out. Good opción 👍

Great location and easy accessible for all the New York, I am rating 3 only because I had a hard time to lift and bring down my two 50lbs each luggage to 5th floor, and the bathroom of 5th floor is very stinky for my entire 3 night stay

El hostel deja bastante que desear, aun teniendo una reserva para 8 noches nos pusieron en una habitación diferente a la reservada y con la cama en un altillo. Al indicarlo nos cambiaron la habitación el segundo día a una en la planta baja en la que dentro había una maquina de aire acondicionado que hacia un ruido estruendoso, varios dias el baño no estaba limpio y había pelos por todo (claro esta que depende de los otros huéspedes) Al final nos conformamos con esa habitación por no tener que cambiar cada dia y ya que por las noches se podía apagar la maquina. Destacar que las paredes son de papel y oyes todo lo del resto de habitaciones y hasta la puerta de entrada y baños

Great Manhattan spot if you’re looking for somewhere affordable and easy access to the subway!!! Double bed room was small for 2 people but it was a comfortable bed and air/heat was effective. Never had issues waiting for shared bathroom as there were multiple bathrooms on every floor. Five floors and stairs are narrow so not very accessible but that’s the case with most older buildings. Walls are thin so expect to hear people moving about, but again, if you’re looking for a safe and affordable option for staying in Manhattan that has easy transportation, it checked all of those boxes which worked for us! Tina at the front desk was a delight and the other staff I interacted with in passing were kind and courteous.
