The Mark

The Mark is nice but it’s also one of the most expensive 5 star hotels, Manhattan. The problem is it’s pretty plain compared to the other hotels in the area not much stood out. I will say, their service and hospitality was great. It’s one of the few hotels that acknowledged my Expedia status and honored my discounts and late check out. The in room dining was about the same as the peninsula or the plaza.

You cannot compare the dining room decorations and quality and choice of food and service to the Carlyle Hotel across the street where we usually stay while in Manhattan. I would never go back to the Mark highly overrated !

the mark is superb all around. location is also great for nyc dining, shopping, and recreation (central park is one street over). my only suggestion is to add a sofa in the standard rooms as the table and 2 tiny chairs are not really functional or comfortable.
