Newport, with it's mansions, beaches, Cliff Walk and harbor scene are not to be missed while visiting RI. A little more than a 30 minute drive from downtown Providence and you're in a whole other world. Don't miss sipping cocktails in the Adirondack chairs on the lawn at Castle Hill.

Head out the back entrance of the hotel with your GPS. You can avoid lots of traffic lights.

I saw this old knot in a tree and then looked inside. It was a bird's home. But part of me thought on the novel, 'To kill a Mockingbird' and the knot in the tree where Jem and Scout traded things with Boo Radley. Then the light changed, creating this interesting halo, as if to highlight the knot.
