“This resort was a pleasant surprise. My husband selected the hotel & I was not excited about having one restaurant on the property. All I can say is WOW!! “This a very small property compared to what we are accustomed to. It is beachfront, but you have to cross a public dirt road. Easy access with some vendors, but nothing pesky like Mexico. The rooms either face the pool or the backsides of the property. There are no direct, beach front rooms. The rooms themselves are a typically sized hotel room, with all of the basic amenities. “The hotel is beautiful, new and meticulously maintained. The rooms a large and very comfortable. THE POOL is the most beautiful pool I have ever seen and enjoyed, and I have seen a lot of them in my trips. The staff is perfect! They even game a bouquet of flowers on Mother’s Day!!! “The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!”

“The main benefit of this hotel was its location. It's conveniently located only within 30 min drive from the airport, also just in between 2 main attractions - beaches and volcano. Should also mention that complimentary breakfast was spot on, and of course we daily enjoyed the pool. So overall great experience although the hotel is way outdated and needs a lot of renovations.”
