Golden Port Hotel cannot be compared to 5 star hotels like the Shangri-La, Marriott or Sheraton that are located some new km away. What Golden Port scores high in is Price and Location. With a price night ranging from USD 65 and a location just cross the street from Lao Waitan (restaurants and bars) it represents a reasonable and convenient option when staiyng Ningbo.

Nearby music disrupts sleep

When I arrived at the hotel I was informed that the hotel did not receive the money from Hotels.com. When I checked out the hotel still did not receive the money that was charged on my credit card and I had to pay the balance when I checked out. The hotel is located by a popular night spot and music could be heard from 20 floors below. Enough noise that it woke me up in the middle of the night and prevented me from getting a good rest.

A very short stay

Arrived at 10 pm and left at 8 am the next day so, not much time to evaluate. The room was spacious and clean. Amenities were good but the breakfast was Chinese style with little to offer for a westerner. Compared to the two Iris hotels I stayed this was far better but below the level of Best Western.
