"I booked a single room right by Hyde Park. It was tiny, but expected for the price. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, though closet and floor space are limited, so don't bring anything bigger than a small wheeled carry on. There are lifts, but also stairs to some rooms, so ask for one near the lift if luggage is a worry. The bathroom was equally compact, but it did the job. Everything was very clean, though the wallpaper could do with some love.
The AC wasn't working, but the fan circulated the air well enough. If you like it arctic (I do), request a room with working AC when you book.
The building is gothic and has real charm compared to others at this price. The large lounge by the lobby is great for photos if you're heading out dolled up. Wifi was fast, and the service was quick and helpful when I asked to change rooms and for an iron.
My 8/10 comes down to the room and bathroom size, the dated decor and the AC (I like to sleep like a frozen ready meal). Otherwise, fair play, good stay."
