Had an excellent 3 night stay at Gaia Villas. There are only 8 rooms on the property so it was very cozy and had a pool and garden in the middle. The pool was refreshing in the afternoon heat. The rooms are quite spacious and the AC works very well. The location is great as it’s only a 10 minute walk to Numgwi beach and a 10 minute ride to Kendwa. The breakfast each morning was delicious and the quickest service of any of the hotels I stayed at. The only negative was the bed was pretty firm and it’s on a busy street but with ear plugs I was able to sleep very well.

Our stay at Gaia Villas in Zanzibar was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at peace. The property is stunning—tucked away in a serene setting that makes you feel like you’ve found your own little paradise. It’s quiet, beautifully maintained, and the perfect place to relax and recharge. Tanya, the owner, personally greeted us and gave us a run down of the property and the town. She even arranged transport from the airport for us beforehand and gave us recommendations on excursions and things to do in the area. Isiah was also amazing. We loved talking to him everyday and also really appreciated his recommendations. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast each morning. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared—it was the perfect start to our days. You could really taste the care and quality in every bite. The combination of the peaceful atmosphere, the welcoming vibe, and the amazing food made this stay unforgettable. I can’t recommend Gaia Villas highly enough and would return in a heartbeat!
