What an absolutely wonderful hotel! The entire staff was so warm and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, along with a big modern bathroom. The restaurant offered so many delicious options, and the staff there made us feel like family. And the location is absolutely perfect. If I’m ever fortunate enough to visit Oaxaca again, this is definitely where I’ll stay!

It seems as though Expedia already wrote my review. Yes, the staff were wonderful and the room spotless. So, what stood out? The location is absolutely SUPERB. It was next to the beautiful Church and large plaza as well as bordering the Zocalo. Everything happens at the Zocalo. Facing the primary entrance to the hotel, to your right, across the Zocalo, is a large Government building. On the First floor is a huge mural depicting Oaxacan history form the early indigenes only period to colonialism. You may not agree with the subject matter but it is impossible to not appreciate the art. Again, everything goes on in or around the Zocalo and the Hotel Margues del Valle borders the Zocalo. We will go back.

Spotless room, lovely view of the Zocalo from our balcony. Good breakfast for a reasonable extra price. The only problem was the internet frequently failed and then came on again. We spoke to management but they were unable to solve this issue. Maybe a new router for the room?

Very convenient place to stay right at the zócalo found a better deal just one block from el Zocalo hotel name is hotel Santa Rosa much cheaper and cleaner for haft of price. However I do recommend this hotel

My main issue is that staff followed us into our room one night asking about the number of people in the room. Our friend was with us briefly after being separated from her partner that night (she was staying at the hotel too on a different floor but didn’t have her key). Staff should not be following people or monitoring who can enter a room THAT I PAID FOR. Ridiculous to violate our privacy in this way.
