Lage nicht ideal

Das Hotel liegt abseits vom "Geschehen" direkt an einer Durchgangstrasse, was bei unseren Freunden störend in der Nachtruhe war. Wir hatten eine sehr schön renovierte "Juniorsuite", bei der der Straßenlärm bei geschlossenem Fenster kaum hörbar war. Für Leute mit Gehbehinderung nicht geeignet, da eine relativ schmale und steile Treppe bis in den 2. Stock führt. Kein Lift! Am Frühstück muß noch gearbeitet werden. Die Spiegeleier waren, egal zu welcher Zeit, übergart, trocken und lauwarm. Alle Brötchen waren m. E. nicht frisch, sondern aufgebacken und daher zäh. Kein frischer Obstsalat. Große Auswahl an Säften. Das Personal war freundlich, flott und aufmerksam.

Ich würde wieder hin fahren. Allerdings sollte noch am Frühstück gearbeitet werden. Keine Billig-Cerealien, kein Billig-Nutella, kein Fertig-Kuchen. Croissants u. Ä. für süßes Frühstück sollten aus liegen oder bestellt werden können.

A great place to rest after a long flight

We stopped at this hotel after flying in to Frankfurt Airport. We needed a place to rest after a long flight and Landgasthof zur Gruner Baum which is about one hours drive was perfect! The area is rural and quiet and overlooks the ruins of an ancient fortress. The restaurant as well as the breakfast was very good.

The hotel had no record of our booking through Hotels.com. The hotel was full, so they turned us away. We have made a complaint to Hotels.com Customer Service to explain what went wrong with their 'guatanteed booking, no need to confirm' promise. We have not heard back yet.

Ikke rygere skal holde sig langt væk.......

Har rejst gennem EU de sidste 4-uger og har ALDRIG oplevet så dårlig service og ugæstfri værter! Vi ankom kl. 20:53 efter en køretur på 4 timer, havde virkelig set frem til at skulle opleve syd Tyskland...... men dette ændrede sig brat allerede ved indcheckningen, hvor jeg bliver modtaget af en mandlig vært der dårlig orkede at sige velkommen? På nettet havde vi læst flere positive anmeldelser, samt at restaurans køkken på stedet havde åbent til kl.21:00, vi havde derfor set virkelig frem til et dejligt måltid mad.... men værten fortalte MEGET overraskende at køkkenet var lukket? Imens han selv stod med en tallerken mad og gumlede helt tilfreds? Var mildest talt chokeret og spurgte om han så kunne oplyse en restaurant i nærheden hvor vi kunne købe et måltid mad "hmmm i kan måske finde noget i en by 5 km herfra?" Det viste sig vi skulle køre 8 km!! Havde kalkuleret med en skøn middag samt en efterfølgende gåtur i området med vores medbragte hund, dette blev totalt forpurret af ekstra kørsel og leden efter et måltid mad. Da vi endelig kunne gå i seng, lugtede hele hotellet og specielt vores udleverede værelse som en gammel rygerkupe, og vi måtte derfor have altandøren åben hele natten, hvilket så betød at ingen hverken mennesker eller hund lukkede et øje pga. lastbiler der rasede på landevejen hotellet ligger lige opad! Helt igennem en rigtig dårlig oplevelse, der gør vi ALDRIG kommer retur

Quiet and beutiful location with great service

Amazing views in Odewald, including Freienstein ruins right from the room window. Hiking trails start 100m from the hotel. Great restaurant and resort like facilities, only in a smaller scale. Don't miss a boat trip from Neckarsteinach to Heidelberg, it's relaxing and you avoid the traffic to Heidelberg.

Ruhiges Hotel mit toller Aussicht

Ich war im Januar 2017 geschäftlich unterwegs und hatte aufgrund einer Empfehlung eines Kollegen das Hotel "Landgasthof Grüner Baum" gebucht. Unterbringung ist gut bis sehr gut. Die Lage ist verkehrstechnisch günstig, der Blick ins Tal und auf die Höhenzüge wunderbar. Auch wenn das Treppenhaus etwas eng ist, so sind die Räume ausreichend groß geschnitten und in einem guten bis sehr guten Zustand. Mein Bad war sauber, geräumig und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Das Frühstück war einfach aber gut.

Lovely retreat

We took a great hike through the forest hiking trails to see some beautiful sights. Then had a delicious meal at the restaurant. The staff were a delight. This would be a great place to getaway from the bustle of a city for a few days. Pros: There is a nearby town with a nice big river to cruise on. Plenty of hiking trails to hike and enjoy a picnic. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are great. Cons: No issues we found on our stay at this hotel.
