Stay Jirisan Parkview

10/10 Excellent

"I loved everything about my 5-day stay at Jirisan Parkview Pension. The location is ideal for serene walks, access to hiking trails, and exploring temples and mountains. A beautiful ravine and creek flows directly behind the pension, and there is a nice path and area to sit and enjoy. Even though it’s a short drive to the town, there are many restaurants and cafes just across the road. It’s a short walk across the parking lot to the bus stop that will take you to various destinations. There’s plenty of parking if you have a vehicle. The pension has comfortable and charming amenities such as a dining area and cafe, and appliances to heat up food if you have your own. They keep it very clean and I found it very relaxing to enjoy after a day of hiking and wandering. The people there are very kind, patient, and helpful! I enjoyed meeting them and felt welcomed. I had a basic room, it was very clean and the bed/bedding was comfortable. It’s very quiet and peaceful at night. There were many international guests that came and went. If I ever am fortunate enough to visit Jirisan again, I will choose Parkview again, and I highly recommend staying here for a beautiful mountain and temple experience!"

"The room was clean and spacious but the bed is hard so be prepared. They gave us a free entry to the spa on the property so that was nice. It's a traditional Korean spa so you should read up on it before deciding to go . They had a coffe bar and that's what we used but not the restaurant on site. The place could use an update but it was decent for the price."

Kumho Hwasun Spa Resort

"Great Value Resort with a Fun Water Park This resort was an excellent value for our family road trip through Jeolla Province. While there are now many newer resorts and water parks in Korea, this place still offers a great experience for the price. Helpful Tip for International Travelers: Most Korean water parks and hotel pools require proper swimwear and some form of head covering, usually a swim cap. Many places will also allow a baseball cap or rent you a swim cap for a small fee. If you plan to use the water park, come prepared to avoid any inconvenience. Also note that water park and bathhouse access requires an additional fee like $20 for bothe access to water park and bth house, which i find it very fair value. The resort has beautiful mountain views and good amenities. Our room included a basic kitchen with cookware and utensils, making it easy to prepare meals. There are also restaurants on-site. Although the resort is older, the rooms appear to have been updated recently and were comfortable and clean. The water park was plenty of fun for our family, and overall I would rate the experience 9 out of 10 for value alone. Even if you don't use the water park, this is still a worthwhile stop for travelers passing through the area. As a bonus, there is a dinosaur footprint site nearby, known for having one of the highest concentrations of dinosaur footprints in the world, making for an interesting side trip during your stay."

"This is a beautiful property. One thing the property needs to address is removing the Korean breakfast from their listing. It is not currently available and should not be advertised. Also, a word of warning - they heat the floors with wood and they get so hot we were very uncomfortable the 1st night and asked them to refrain from using any wood on the 2nd day. It worked and we were very comfortable. The location of the property is better than anything we could have asked for. Also, they include free admission to all the major area attractions. The gardens are directly nextdoor and spectacular. The front desk also provided us with the name and location of a wonderful gym. We were able to get a fantastic workout. We will be returning to this property on our next visit to Korea and highly recommend when you visit Namwon."
