We stayed two nights. It is remote and only reached by 20 min water taxi or hiking. It is a lovely, picturesque setting in Queen Charlotte Track. The location was scary at first, since it involved driving uphill on dirt road for about 1.5 miles, at very slow speeds. This also made it very inconvenient to get to the town or local attractions. Abel Tasman National Park is a 1.5 hours drive, each way.
But my room was superb. Very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Had heated floors in the bathroom, and a private balcony, but the view left a lot to be desired.
The included breakfast was excellent, which included hot prepared made to order...

Very nice accommodation close to downtown and movie theatre - delicious dinner riverside at the hotel restaurant. Parking was a little tight, street spots are available. Shower was AMAZING! Great water pressure.
FYI : there is no elevator to the second floor if this is an important requirement for your travel, make sure you request a ground floor room.

I just stayed here one night on my way from Picton to Franz Joseph. 2 hour car ride from the Ferry. My ferry was late so the staff made arrangements for me get my key as I arrived after hours. Electric blanket was a nice touch.
