“A great heritage place to stay for a few days of exploring Alleppy, beaches and the backwaters, located across a local road by the massive beach. Hotel is a lovely well maintained old traditional building with a swimming pool and restaurant. Paid a bit more for a large traditional room with a large shared lounge and outside seating area next to the pool. Great restaurant and chef with a good menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner also serving alcohol. Guys in the restaurant very helpful...

“Very relaxing and beautiful scenery. The rooms are very modern and clean. There was a total of 7 rooms on board, so it was good to mix and chat to the other guests. The crew on the houseboat were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Always willing and happy to help. Food was excellent, but keep in mind there is no alcohol, as seems to be case everywhere in Kerala. We will happily come back again.”

“I stayed 1 night here. really beautiful atmosphere. sunset cruise very nice. However, they claimed 2500 rupees for using jacuzzi with spilling wine. The water in jacuzzi is reused by there own purification system which is uninformed. That one is only disappointment in staying Kumarakom Lake resort. Except for that, the atmosphere, really beautiful. Thank you”

“Amritara Beach Symphony is a little paradise. I loved my bungalow and enjoyed being close to the public beach where local families turn out to watch the sunset and fishermen haul in their catch in the morning. The pool is gorgeous, surrounded by lush greenery. The staff was attentive and helpful and arranged an amazing sunrise backwater boat tour. It felt like home-- would definitely stay again! Expedia needs to remove some of the older reviews for this spot as they don't reflect current...

“What a wonderful place, very beautiful and relaxing. Accommodation absolutely top notch, staff even better. Having stayed in several highly rated 5 star hotels during our month long tour of India we felt this to be the best. If you're looking for the backwater experience in true comfort and style then this gives you that. We hired a day boat which picked us up from the bottom of the garden. We spent the evenings watching the boats go by and the chinese fishing nets being used. Realy all one...
