Tired and closing down
Not that far from Bruge but completely inaccessible if you don't have a car. Very pleasant green surroundings and the donkeys they had were friendly. Rooms, furnishings and decor very tired and basic - more like you would expect in a hostel. Main problem is that the 'hotel' was closing [for good] down a couple of days after our visit so was in the process of being stripped down - so no evening restaurant (no cooker left in the kitchen), nothing to make tea or coffee in your room. However, was kindly given permission to 'self-serve' on a kettle that was left. Despite the fact that the kitchen really didn't exist the breakfast wasn't that bad - but nothing cooked of course. Pleasant staff. wi-fi failed on the first day but came back later and was good. TV fine and working. We were out most of the day so wasn't a huge issue for us but pretty basic even by 2 star standards and didn't feel especially like a good value deal as a result. Staff were friendly and I think have new positions when the hotel closes [which it will have down by now 10 Jan]. Needs a massive cash injection and a re-think on audience and room quality before could recommend.

Cold room. Dirty and rundown. Not safe for 3 year old, even though family room. Disgusting shower. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise.

This was a charming property in the country. The staff spoke English or at least enough to translate and get by. There were three of us on the strip myself, my elderly mother, and my teenage daughter. It seemed like a long way from the front door to our room. In the room, there was a single bed, a table, and dresser with the bathroom on the first floor. Then, loft type stairs/ladder up to the second floor with a double bed, a wardrobe, and a desk. It was adorable, comfortable, and clean. We would stay again. We did not have the breakfast as we were wanting to get on the road early.

The rooms are very basic. Some carpeting and a bit of refurbishment would make a big difference.
