I had a very enjoyable two week stay at the OYO.. Lonsdale..guest house. Very clean and warm room. Excellent nearby shops and cafes in, Summertown,with bus routes five minutes away from city centre.

A lovely family-run guest house. Everything about the property is fantastic. They are helpful and kind. You can walk downtown or cross the street and take the bus, which passes every 10 minutes. There are shops, restaurants, and supermarkets close by. The room was clean and cosy.

Comfortable Stay in a Great Location

We had a pleasant stay overall. The room was clean and the bed was really comfy, which made for a good night’s sleep. The location was ideal—close to the city, restaurants, and with parking available nearby. Late check-in was easy thanks to the key code system. The room had some nice touches like tea bags and biscuits, although there wasn’t quite enough milk provided. The only downside was the kettle, which was covered in a white powdery residue—hopefully just limescale, but it wasn’t very appealing. Aside from that, it was a convenient and comfortable place to stay, and I’d consider returning.

This was not the best guest house I have ever stayed in, for sure. The room had an unpleasant odour and there were damp patches on several walls. Fittings were not pristine either. Perhaps most problematic was the security light that was on all night and streaming through the (unlined) curtains. Towels and bedding were provided and were clean and the lady who greeted me was friendly.

Staff was very friendly and the room was clean, however the condition was poor with worn furniture that had seen its best days. The single room I booked was advertised with a private bathroom (not en-suite), however it was used by other guests in the house as well. Some of the few sockets in the room did not work.

I thought the accommodation was very good I have found that organising accommodation on line that there is no phone number to call as I had mediocrity me that needed a small fridge to put it in But as in both off my bookings they did put my medication in there own fridge and froze my ice bricks I had with me The only susjestion I can make that they should state if there is a fridge in the room or not because I just expected there would be one The breakfast in Oxford was good but maybe a chance to have porridge made as a option would have been nice Overall very happy Strphen Brown

The location is good - close to shops and restaurants in Summertown. Check in was easy with clear instructions for key pick up. The sheets, towels and main areas in the room were clean but other areas were dirty or in need of attention (e.g. the doors to the room and ensuite were dirty and marked, the wallpaper was peeling, there were stains on the stool by the dressing table and on the base of the bed, and the runner for the shower doors needed to be cleaned). It was quite warm during my stay so the fan provided was appreciated. The shower pressure was good with plenty of hot water. Adding a hook in the bathroom would be helpful as there was nowhere to hang towels.

Nice place but watch the hot water!

Overall a pleasant stay. Only thing that might be improved is the showers control. I guess it is always better to have too much hot water, but the hot water is so hot, the in room shower was barely bearable at the coolest setting available. Anyway it is still better than a cold shower.

Awful

Shared bathroom despite booking saying private bathroom. Hotel would do nothing about it, nor would hotels.com. Blind broken in skylight so woken at 6am. Sink in room that you can’t really get to. Pillow had the largest lump in I’ve ever seen. Worst value for money of any place I’ve ever stayed.

Very small room. Private bathroom was not there. The ad in Expedia said one of the two of Thier chain hotels were rated higher with no private bath. The one which we booked said “with private bath”. VALUE FOR MONEY WAS LOW. I would NOT Recommend this hotel.

You get what you pay for, not much!

Room was small and cramped. Room was not en suite, despite being advertised as such. Lack of power sockets too. The bed was under the sloping roof, with heavy rain during the night it sounded like a million dried peas had been dropped on glass thus making sleeping difficult.
