Palma Aquarium Tours

Palma Aquarium showing marine life and colorful reefs
Walk through a tunnel surrounded by sharks and see over 8,000 species of marine life at one of the best aquariums in the Mediterranean region.

In its 55 tanks and over five million liters of water, Palma Aquarium holds one of the most diverse arrays of marine life in the Mediterranean area. View everything from rays and seahorses to octopuses and exotic fish. Feed the sharks and turtles and learn about the marine creatures that live off the coast of Mallorca.

Head to the area dedicated to marine life from the Mediterranean Sea. Nearly half the tanks make up this section of the aquarium. See groupers and wrasses as well as colorful lobsters and octopuses. Learn about the unique environment of the Mediterranean Sea by reading the informative placards alongside the tanks.

Once you’ve seen all the Mediterraneane area has to offer, head to the 24 tropical tanks. These contain the largest collection of coral in Europe and display fish from the world’s oceans. View colorful clownfish and underwater oddities like the surgeonfish and comet tail fish.

If you’re feeling brave, head to the large transparent tunnel where sharks swim behind glass only a few feet away. Qualified divers can even jump into the tank for an exhilarating up-close experience. Pre-booking is essential in order to do this—along with courage and common sense.

Head outside to explore pools teeming with rays, turtles and hammerhead sharks. Children will love the opportunity to give the creatures their dinner at feeding time. Also popular with the young ones is the outdoor play area which includes water features and slides.

The aquarium features an educational zone too, with boards detailing the effect of humans on the marine environment. Learn what you can do to help conserve the world’s oceans.

Palma Aquarium is located in the marina in Palma de Mallorca. There are two cafés in the large outside area and a gift shop. Palma Aquarium is open year-round and there is an admission fee.
