"In general, Kicking Horse is pretty worn. The Glacier Mountaineer Lodge is no exception. Kind of had a horror movie vibe. There was a heat wave and lots of wildfire smoke but no AC so opening the windows was dicey. Plus, the concessions played non/stop music really loud from early to late which was annoying. Especially since there were so few people out and about it seemed like the music was only for the staff - none of which appeared to be older than the mid-twenties. There are two places to eat at the “resort” and both were good. I was overcharged by about $50 and am still trying to get that settled after two weeks. The place may have a whole different feel in winter but I would not recommend it in the summer."

"The lodge was clean and so was our room. The continental breakfast was not fancy, but had all the basics and was well stocked. Madia and staff were very attentive to our needs. The rooms and the lodge were very quiet. A great place to relax. Unfortunately, for us we were there at a time when the smoke from the fires was heavy, so we couldn’t really appreciate the views. We would make this a regular get away if we lived closer."
