This is an amazing looking property, that allegedly has 5 stars, however I would rate it as a 2 star. Reception desk was unmanned for 15 minutes at check in, then he arrived harassed, With little command of English. The room was large but tired, the bed was huge but uncomfortable with springs poking my back. The restaurant was full and couldn’t accommodate us and after travelling 1,000km from Spain we were not impressed. People in the room above us were partying until 3am. ( not the hotels fault but didn’t help) However they did provide a dog bowl for our family pooch in the room.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel whilst visiting Pau. Highly recommend their restaurant and the views are stunning, across the town to the Pyrennes. Short drive or few km walk into main town
Not a five-star hotel, or at least, not anymore. The carpet in the hallway is decades old and stained. And there were no pillow cases on two of our pillows.

I don't know who awards the stars but this hotel despite its many good attributes has nothing close to 5 stars by intertnational standards: Despite the hefty room rate: misleading.
Why do you advertise the hotel as a 5 star hotel ?
Definitely not 5 star , nobody at the door to welcome you, there is however a receptionist who was lovely , but what can she do when working for a hotel which needs a lot of TLC and staff. It looked like the gardener had been on a long holiday , carpets were extremely dirty throughout the hotel, and although we were upgraded to a suite after complaining about our room being in an annexe and not in the main house, the state of the suite was more 3 stars than 5 stars.
The room would not even qualify for a 1 star motel. the advertised rooms were 'not available' to anyone. The place was filthy and the corridors to the rooms were appalling!!
It’s a terrible hotel for the price they charge. We were looking forward to staying there after a long drive and chill by the pool but the pool was not available. The rooms are old and felt like they were not updated for the last fifty years. There was no air conditioning and no fans available and no net on the windows! On a hot summer day it’s impossible to sleep. We’ve asked for something, anything they can provide for mosquito protection but they had nothing. Everytime we called the reception there was no reply and when we went down to speak to her, we found out that she was washing dishes in the restaurant.
All around very uncomfortable hotel.
Should be zero stars!
