The hotel facilities are outdated, but the location is quite convenient.
It was a funky, charming space at the edge of historic Philadelphia. They had lovely complementary wine and appetizers each evening and a nice breakfast, all included in the price. Location was perfect.
The staff were friendly and very very helpful. Room was well presented, although dated, with adequate air conditioning and shower facilities. Breakfast plus complimentary glasses of wine were the perfect way to show how much the hotel valued your stay.
It was a nice stay overall. The staff were very friendly and the room was quite nice. The bed could have been softer for a single room, but I could still sleep ok. The window on the 7th floor offered a nice view of the city.
The Alexander Inn was great! The staff's customer service was helpful and very nice! The wine/snack at evening and breakfast was excellent and service was very nice! We really liked the Alexander Inn and hope to be back again. Thank you!!
Excellent hotel by the train station with perfect 1 person rooms. I had a window that wouldn't fully close which made traffic a little bother when trying to sleep. They had a buffet breakfast and comfy lobby chairs. Staff was also very accommodating for when my room key wasn't working and gave me a replacement. Worth the prince.
My stay at Alexander Inn was amazing, as usual, but Dresden made it extra amazing. I highly recommend staying here, the location is amazing and the staff, especially Dresden, will make sure your stay is as great as possible. I can’t wait to come back and stay here again.

This property was much older and felt very worn in. I also had a “hiccup” whereby there were hairs in my shower the day I checked in… staff was very nice, however.
The hotel was in a fantastic central area with a spacious room and very nice and helpful staff. The room was very outdated and musty. Bed was comfortable, pillows were not. I prefer a more updated and prettier hotel experience. Bathroom had tile that appeared to be from the 60s. Old but in good condition.
Amazing staff and the perks of a free breakfast and Happy Hour from 5-7 make this place a great bargain!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The neighborhood is nice and felt safe. Liked the old style but the room had 2 vitamins underneath the baseboard that I could clearly see when I walked into the room. The AC window unit ran but would cut out and was loud when it came back on. Breakfast was decent. All-in-all it was fine. Would I stay there again? Most likely not.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The room was musty and the shower grout was disgusting. The breakfast was not much and the staff working it were always grunting and groaning and slamming dishes. They should save their money on the wine and cheese hour because the wine was Barefoot and the cheese and fruit was leftover from the day before-the fruit was hot one day which was odd. Location was A+

The positives are: convenient location, spacious room, friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast and comfortable bed.
Negatives: The rooms and common areas were clean enough, but overall the property needs an update. It looks tired. Also, there are many bars and clubs in that area so very loud on weekend nights.

Great staff and amenities. Amazing breakfast, too. My only criticism is some of the bed sheets still had hair from previous customers on them.
Anyone who knows the Alexander Inn loves the Alexander Inn. From the charming antique features --stained glass and art deco insets, lovely tile work--to the spacious rooms and the friendly staff, it is a delightful property. The location is sublime for Philadelphia fun.
This is an older building so there were a couple of minor issues associated with the age of the building. It has a lot of character though which is something we like. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. We enjoyed Bruce, who served us at the social hour, very much. The social hour was a nice benefit of staying here and went from 5-7 each day. This is in a great area about six blocks from the train station that we arrived at when coming in to the city from the airport. I would highly recommend staying here.
