Jul 10, 2019Far better area than Chania. Less crowded and nice access to water events. Great local restaurants. Was quite touristy, but that was not a hindrance. The hotel made the trip.

Jun 25, 2019I didn’t love Platanias - very built up and touristy. Nothing particularly interesting to see or do here, although there are some decent restaurants. With a rental car (a must), you can easily explore Elafonisi Beach and the charming town of Chania.
