"We booked a hotel room for 3 people a few days before traveling down for my birthday. Had a phone call that morning asking me to call a few hours before I was due to get to the hotel for the code. I called a few hours before to be told there was no longer any 3 person rooms due to third party websites double booking. When questioned was told if I’d have checked in earlier I may have gotten a room but the manager offered us 2 2 person rooms and after asking late check out for the inconvenience. When we got there the front door wasn’t locked and I don’t think it does lock but there was another door to get to the rooms. One room had blood on the bed and the room didn’t lock but staff did come and change the bedding quickly and where very helpful and I managed to fix the lock myself. The other room had dog hair on the bed and dog food on the floor which left an unpleasant smell and the tv wire was missing but we was pre warned about the tv wire prior and offered on property parking which ended up leaving our car covered in poo after 12 hours but this is no fault of the hotel. One room had a radiator the other didn’t but we didn’t feel them on, management say they come on 6-7 but we were surprisingly warm as there was strong winds during our stay coming through our windows. We didn’t try the breakfast but we didn’t see any info on times it was served but did see some plates set out on our way out which looked good. "

"We’ve just finished a 3-night stay at the Henson Hotel and had the best time making memories. As a mum with two kids (8 and 13), I found it the ideal 'base camp'. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—5 minutes from the station and trams, with a £10 family ticket getting us to the Tower and Piers in under 10 minutes. The hotel itself is great value. Rooms are basic but functional, and the bar is excellently priced for both soft and alcoholic drinks. We were pleasantly surprised by the space and entertainment like the pool table and board games. However, the highlight was the staff. They are incredibly helpful and funny; they created such a warm atmosphere that all the guests were laughing together at breakfast. My kids noted that you’d never get this level of personal service at a big chain. We can’t wait to stay again!"

"It’s a lovely old building with lots of character. Definitely needs some TLC but we enjoyed our short stay. Didn’t see the entertainment so can’t comment on that. Staff were ok but probably a bit lacklustre, the lady who checked us in for breakfast was nice, the bar tender was pleasant. Check in staff could have been more cheerful and welcoming. However would definitely come again. Breakfast was good."

"Overall a great place for families with pleasure beach being about 15 min walk. Tram stop located within 5 minute walk also provides access to the whole of Blackpool. Staff very friendly and helpful nothing was too much of an ask. Both breakfast and the food menu our very limited and there isn’t much variety. This is same on kids menu. Hotel was very clean and modern. Room itself is standard size clean with a big bathroom. Very clean and modern again. Only downsize is there isn’t much storage room. Our toilet seat was faulty but when we mentioned it they where quick to apologise and said they’d get maintenance to sort it. Parking is limited and if you want to park in the car park it’s £12 pounds a day. There is free parking outside the hotel on the road but it’s very limited . Overall though excellent value for money and a pleasure staying. "

"Very friendly owners always had time to talk to us. Nice room clean and tidy.nice breakfast fresh tasty with orange juice tea or coffee and refills if you wanted plus loads of cereal if you wanted.would definitely stay here again. Ohh there is a bar as well "
