"We recently stayed at the Fox for a dance competition, arriving Thursday and checking out Saturday, before returning Sunday to stay until Monday. We’ve stayed at the Fox many times over the years and it has always been a favorite for our family. The grotto is always a huge hit with the kids, and we especially love the two floor units that help separate the living and sleeping spaces.
Our first two nights were wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised to be placed in a renovated room. The beds were very comfortable, the room felt fresh and clean, and we slept really well.
When we returned on Sunday, check-in was once again easy and the staff were excellent. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned that night was very run down. The condition of the room made it feel unclean. The floors did not feel clean, the couches were heavily stained, and overall it just didn’t feel well maintained. It was concerning enough that we requested a different room.
To the staff’s credit, they were extremely accommodating, especially considering it was a long weekend and the hotel was sold out except for a two bedroom suite. They upgraded us at no additional charge, which we truly appreciated.
The staff and location continue to be major positives for this property, and we’ve had many great stays here. However, I am hesitant to book again until all rooms are renovated, as the inconsistency between renovated and older rooms is significant."
