"Saturday night at the pizza place was utter chaos. The wait staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Took forever to order. Then with food delivery it was just nuts. No one knew which table for which order! Completely unorganized. Not the level of service one would expect from a Marriott resort like this. Then today when we had confirmed reservations for luggage pickup at 7:30 am and a water taxi at 8, and we were there at the dock before 8, we learned that no such reservations had been made, even though I had an email stating that we were confirmed for the service. The wonderful employee at the dock jumped through hoops to make it work for us. I paid $400 for the airport transfers in all, and believe I deserve some type of compensation for this failure. So far, no response from hotel staff. Again, very disappointing for a Marriott resort at this level. Will not be returning."

"PROS: - The deluxe bungalow is spacious, has a large bed, it has a small fridge- ideal, a decked area, large shower room, with separate toilet - all pluses! - The restaurant staff are brilliant; Monty, Liton, Cielo, Alicia and another lovely lady who's name I didn't catch, and the chap who served us a lot who why do you always order that same thing lol are so lovely and super welcoming. - The food has definitely improved since we last stayed - the pizzas are delicious! - There is an online shop which has a bit of everything. - There is a bus transfer into Venice, (it drops you under the people mover €1,50 which takes you to Piazzale Roma) for €5 return per person or £2,50 each way. - The pool and the pool bar are excellent, plenty of loungers too (no saving them allowed)! Generally it's just a really nice chilled vibe here, which is what we were looking for on this trip. CONS: - Air-Con was a nightmare, it'd be ok for a few days then constantly reset to 24°C or switch off completely, the lowest it goes is 19°C so not great to begin with. - Reception Staff - at check-in and when needing assistance they were uninterested bordering on rude, not all, but several! - There is a little wooden table and bench set on the deck which is fine, but a table with a couple of chairs like at the other Hu sites would be better. - There's not really anything walkable locally."
