Our room was clean and comfortable but fairly compact. Location and grounds are great with nice pool and amenities (like a small pitch-and-putt golf course on site).
There are no restaurant facilities on site but there is a small Starbucks operation in the hotel lobby.
It was absolutely fantastic. The room was comfortable, and so cozy with the fireplace while it was snowing outside. The grounds are beautiful. The location is great, and nearby wonderful lakes and walks. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful!!!
Property is nice. The tap room is a bonus. The problem with room 311 is the Air conditioner wall unti points right at the bed and is loud. My brother's room was laid out completely different. We book the same style rooms. I could tell that everyone who slept in that room used the right side of the mattress, because it was slanted downward to be as far away from the ac as possible. If I go back I will request a different room. Friendly service and very peaceful. This is Definitely the nicest hotel in the area
The heating system kept cycling and it was not quiet at all. Checked in and the young lady working the counter said the bar and restaurant was closed for the season. The only reason I thought it was ok to pay that much for a small room was the attached restaurant and bar. You have to travel a few miles to get something to eat.
The property was lovely, lots of amenities, activities, grounds. But the room was dark without adequate lighting, a bit small, the bed was low, and the table upstairs (loft) had only one chair! The Nespresso machine was a big plus!
Room fairly spartan with spotty internet & tv coverage- but very clean place & Starbucks onsite…nice staff…just expected more from the room given the rate.
Room was small but quite modern, had pad for charging phones, bathroom amenities, clean bright white bedding, all apps for watching t.v(hulu,Netflix) onsite bar/coffee. The only thing i would suggest is to add where the ice machine/soda vending machines are. They give you a check in map(which was super helpful property is large easy to get lost) but we couldnt find the location of the ice machine and feont desk was closed. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. Huge step up from the location down the road which i dont recommend.
My stay was end of December and it snowed. It looked like a winter wonderland. The room was clean and the decor modern. The main entrance and check in area has a large sitting area, fireplace and a cute boutique filled with fun items. But really it’s the surrounding nature that was pristine. The walk to feather river was easy to find despite the deep snow. The staff was warm and welcoming. Thank you.
Great, stayed in terrace suite, room is as advertised. Only desire would be some form of kitchenette or way to make food since Portola doesn’t have a ton of food options. But staff is friendly and helpful, room is clean and kept well, process for check-in/check-out is easy and parking is very flexible. Would definitely recommend.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
My wife and I were one of three occupated rooms and was placed in a room in the back next to the bar. When asked if we could be moved into a more scenic room the gal at the desk said nothing was available. Apparently since we booked online using Expidia she wasn't accomadating. Otherwise our one-night stay was fine. Off season, we were hoping for the hot tub to be open but it was drained along with the pool. Many of the area's restaurants were also closed for the season.

Quiet room with comfortable bed and pillows. Nespresso machine was nice. Staff was friendly but a bit inexperienced. On-site taproom (limited food) & coffee shop were convenient for remote location with limited dining options 10 minutes away in Portola. Resort fees didn't seem appropriate for this property, especially in winter with pool & spa closed and most other site amenities inaccessible. Room was well-appointed, but standard size.
The property is unique and nice. The lobby was warm and welcoming but not the most comfortable for lounging for any length of time. The room is well appointed and decorated well. We were in a frontage road room so the road noise was a little much until we turned on the bathroom fan and ran that for white noise for sleeping. We had 4 people staying in the room but only three bath towels. Very friendly staff
Very sad the out door hot tub was taken out. We had fun memories on our previous trips.
The remote on our tv was stuck
On stars the whole time. Couldn’t get out and we don’t gave stars. Room 301 is not where you want to stay..
