“What a wonderful little home-stay! If you're after somewhere quiet, yet still close to the centre of Nuwara Eliya, this spot it perfect. No frills, just a comfortable room at an affordable price. Only a short walk to food options (Royal Wok does an excellent biryani). It might be a little hard to find, but message Saman (e.g. via WhatsApp) and they'll collect you from wherever you need - even as far as Colombo airport! Andrew's Lodge is a great option for anyone looking to break up the trip...

“We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. ”

“Lovely staff, clean rooms, view of Ella valley. Difficult to find, so it's best to have driver call ahead if possible. Look for the signs pointing towards Red Rock Ella,.which is next door. ”

“Had a great stay here for 2 nights. The sheets were really lovely as were the pillows. Breakfast 2 fried eggs 2 sausages fruit platter and toast and jam, juice, water and tea or coffee.”
