"The Holiday Inn Downtown-Arena is perfectly located for anyone who wants to be close to the Golden 1 Center, which is why I booked this hotel. All in all, I would recommend someone stay here for an event at Golden 1 Center, but that's about it.
The staff is great, don't get me wrong, but breakfast and parking both cost $35/day. You can choose not to have breakfast but if you drive you can't really choose to not park your car.
My room was clean and the amenities were good, so I could get breakfast items and bring them back to my room however I wish I had a microwave. The tub didn't drain very well (and I'm not sure why the guest before me didn't say anything) so I had to take 2 showers with little drainage, and the water flow/pressure kept changing during the course of each shower which was odd. I did appreciate the daily refreshing of my towels which I have not experienced in any hotel post-COVID so that was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
Next time I visit Sacramento for an event at Golden 1 Center I'll most likely stay at this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone else going to Sacramento for an event at the Golden 1 Center. The staff everywhere within the hotel are warm, friendly, knowledgable, and wonderful."
