Lovely stay. 2nd time we have stayed here. The food was delicious, great choice for breakfast & evening …. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff. We were presented with a complimentary dessert for our Wedding Anniversary which was a nice touch. The ‘cosy’ room was nice, however quite dark and a few issues with the bathroom which we reported to the receptionist on checking out. Overall a great experience 😊

Lovely location. Hotel furnished to a very high standard Great breakfast and food in the restaurant with friendly staff But my Comfy Double Room was high up in a new build at the back of the car park away from the river and was very hot and stuffy. A fan was provided but one would expect aircon.

The room was lovely very clean and very spacious. The hotel is very pretty and situated by the river . The let down was the restaurant. We waited 20 mins to get a drink and the staff were very uninterested and the food was only average.

Mid heatwave and they thoughtfully had fans running in the room before our arrival to keep the temperature down and extra water in the well stocked fridge. Slept like a baby.

A wonderful stay with exceptional service! We had a fantastic stay at The Great House in Sonning and would happily return! When we first arrived, the TV in our room wasn’t working. We mentioned it to reception, and they immediately offered us two alternative rooms, which we were able to go and look at before deciding. The whole situation was handled so quickly and efficiently, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The bathroom in the room we moved to was slightly smaller, but that really wasn’t an issue. The room itself was lovely, with an incredibly comfortable bed and pillows. It was also great to have heating available if needed, as well as a fan for warmer weather. We particularly loved the little touches, such as the selection of snacks and drinks in the minibar, especially the fact that the snacks were from British brands. It’s those thoughtful details that make a difference. We had dinner at the restaurant in the evening and breakfast the following morning, and both were excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the people. Every member of staff we encountered was genuinely friendly, welcoming and attentive. You really get the feeling that they care about their guests and want everyone to have a wonderful experience. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend The Great House. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful cosy double room full of amenities, mini bar, fridge and Nespresso machine, and fresh milk! Lovely modern bathroom. Rooms hot in the heatwave we are experiencing but a fan was provided and I took my own. Hotel provided extra bottled cold water to help which was a nice touch. Loved the local honey given as a gift in the rooms. Had dinner and breakfast. Both very good. Lovely staff team too. Would highly recommend

Reception staff were friendly, & gave me a ground floor room on request. The room was refurbished to a good standard, clean and well appointed with a great shower room. The hotel has good vibes with the Coppa Club & really attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, lovely location for a 24 hour break.

It was a lovely hotel and the room was gorgeous. We enjoyed a nice drink by the river as the sun was setting and it was so picturesque. However, we stayed during 32 degree heat, and there was a fan but it was still so hot in the bedroom. The bathroom had no air conditioning and it was unbearable to use the bathroom during the heat. Apart from this, it was a lovely stay and I would stay again.
