Noisy party place in nice property

Very, very noisy place off the main street. Took 10 min to unlock the lockbox, there was no key on table, didn’t know which room was mine. Room big but nowhere to put things on, blinds fell off upon attempt to pull them up, impossible to stand straight in shower (in tub), leaves the entire bath flooded, no trash can, no mugs, lots of mosquitos, no light on back terrace. Nicely renovated (with unfitting very cheap Ikea stuff) charming old property, but only for the young indifferent party crowd. “Estate” is taking it very far really.

Top locatie, midden in het centrum maar geen geluidoverlast. Matras kan beter, maar voor 1 nacht wel te doen. Leuk die oude stijl van het pand en inrichting!!

Room #3....the crazy staircase room. Okay, but bathroom not fine. As noted by pretty much everyone there is no staff. Pictures of property were shot with insane lighting....it’s basically pretty dark and VERY modest. Location on Apple and Google maps is wrong. There are SO many different names for this place, but none of them are found on my map apps. There is no plaque/name on the front door. Allow an extra hour to communicate and await arrival of distracted and not really welcoming staff.

The Anassa Estate is a beautiful building with an exceptional architectural and decorative style. It is situated right in the middle of the old town with many facilities and shops around it. The room where I stayed it was extremely peaceful. The price was good. I did not like that I did not have the proper facilities for cooking in my room, the self in the bathroom was not stable, so I did not have enough room for me cosmetics, and the taps where blocked by the scale.. The steps for my room where rather scary, because they were smaller than my feet. The administration, though absent, tried to fulfill my requirements very quickly, and the tsikoudia they offered was nice

Charmant logement atypique de caractère au centre

Jolie maison ancienne décorée dans le style et avec goût dans le centre de Rethymno. Appartement confortable et bien aménagé. Pas de parking à proximité, l'accès est difficile dans des rues piétonnières et à cause des escaliers mais la résidence en vaut vraiment la peine.

We booked at lunchtime. Drove there... called for six hours straight... hotels.com called them. They never met us or talked to my daughter and me. They left us sitting in a restaurant until 11pm. Never showed Ridiculous!!!

Excellent location

Excellent restored mansion; all wood walls and floors; very spacious. Only problem that we had to climb two flights of stairs to our top room, but had access to terrace/roof with view of the city and harbor nearby. However, they misrepresent in the website that they have "free parking," it's on the street if you can find it or up the hill far away. There is a paying public parking nearby at the harbor for 70c/hour overnight too. Another problem: the street in front of the hotel is OW, and only allowed to be used by cars 8-11 AM (old city). But other times you can stop and unload just two blocks away on the last portion of that street towards the public parking.

Nice unique property in city center - but noisy.

The property is a 600 year old home that was supposedly the second home built in 1440 for the mayor. It has obviously been renovated but a lot of the character of the property has been preserved. It is run as a hotel with three seperate rooms and a large cavernous great room with a coffee / tea kiosk and sofas shared by all. The room we had was a wonderful large room with high ceilings and an en suite bathroom and tub. I would have given the property five stars except for two reasons. The room sits above a busy pedestrian street in which people walk talk sing party ALL NiGHT long. No, really. The smaller bedroom on the opposite side would have been quieter but we were allowed to choose our room as we were the only one at the property at the time. I think all rooms would be noisy if there had been more guests. As it was, we were lucky there weren't. The room did have a lovely private terrace with a fantastic view of the city and sea. That alone may make it worth it to someone. The other issue was that even though I booked through home away, there was some glitch in the reservation on the property owners side. It took many emails and phone calls to sort out the reservation. I did not have a valid email address or phone number for the property and only after emailing a client support email, it eventually got sorted out- but just. I kept having to text and email and we were allowed to check in after 5pm after calling and emailing about a dozen times. I've never had an issue before with a property booked on home away- and I booked other properties on Crete at the same time. So I think it is a property or hotel issue. I think this is the reason we were allowed to choose our room when arrived but received no other apology or communication about the difficulty in checking in. Renter beware.
