Aged property and non-smoking room smells like smoke, but there is a fridge with freezer, microwave and a nice Mexican restaurant a mile down the road. Inexpensive compared with near by options, and close to trailhead.
There was not a single amenity. Except wifi couldn't get in bed layed on top of a blanket we had fully clothed. Shower was filthy was afraid to even use it. Tv had only 1 station to watch. Even had to pay for coffee in am
We should be refunded
This was the absolute worst place I've ever stayed in my life. I really think I may have to stop using your app. I don't know if I can trust it again. Made me cry.
Very much enjoyed our stay here. After reading previous reviews we almost canceled and went elsewhere. I'm glad we didn't do that. It was quiet (other than traffic which is not something that they can control) and there were no issues at all. I would stay there again.
Arrived and name on motel was Bluejay, not what was advertised. Would not suggest others to stay. Towels felt like they were hung dry. If I wasn't so exhausted would not have stayed.
DONT STAY HERE. It’s tough to have to travel on a budget and trusting images descriptions online as this was a really bad place. Luckily I didn’t experience bedbugs but there was a bad odor, sheets with hair on it, dead cockroaches, stinkbugs hiding, mold build up, and trash like condom wrapper left behind. It was loud with the two highways on either side and the shower took forever to warm up, many minutes. Luckily they didn’t try to overcharge me and I only needed a quick stay to sleep but this is one of the worst places I’ve seen across the country, not worth $50/night spend more and go elsewhere
This was a scary site when we pulled up and the sign at the road does not even read OYO Hotel, it reads Blue Jay Motel. I would pass on staying here again, we were supposed to stay 2 nights and only stayed 1 and I would not even use the shower, I took my shower somewhere else and not at this scary place.
The place needs to be renovated. Bathroom had broken tile and the caulking was a mess. The outside looks like it has been abandoned. I would say it is about. 20 min drive to Va Tech and easy to get into and out. If you are staying one night then it’s doable.
This motel is in the middle of the freeway, right next to the gas station and there is nothing around. It is very run down place. Picture of the room is from a different motel or taken 30 years ago. There are no people were around and i saw staff member only twice-when i got the key and on check out. There was a power outage for about 6 hours or more, i could not find anyone to ask for a flashlight or a candle. I guess when you need a place with a door for one night, i’ll do.
Poor outside signage.....had previous motel signage in front of property. Rather worn furniture around entrance to property. Bed was comfortable and afforded us a good night's sleep. Room was clean; TV worked well. All outlets on room operated off entrance switch light switch. Did not notice until next morning as my phone did not charge. Would stay again.
