With new safety guidelines to follow, travel looks a lot different nowadays. Here's what you should know before you pack your bags for Saas Valley:

• Before you lock in a flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by checking government websites.

• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Instead, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Empty everything from your pockets, like your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
