“Ratings reflect the state of the public areas, rather than the room which was actually excellent. Public areas filthy, run down, dust, dirt, builders debris left lying around along with tools, little attempts at tidying up of any cleaning at all. Same rubbish left on stairs and in corridors for duration of 4 night stay. No room servicing either. Was told to put sign on door, great if you actually have one. “The George was brilliant. We were travelling to Islay and it was intended as a stop off. We loved it! From the moment of our arrival, welcome from the staff was great, rooms lovely and bar / restaurant excellent. Food was superb. I can only recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.”
