The owner and staff were welcoming and so attentive. Great location and quality for the price. Hot shower and thick towels. Rooms near the beach can experience some noise on the weekends as guests gather there but that’s to be expected.

Hotel Playa Zipolite is right on the Main Street in Zipolite, within walking distance to restaurants, bars, on one side and direct access to the beach on the other side. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is super friendly.

On arrival We all thought we had mad a serious mistake choosing the property! It was a lack luster check in with non friendly staff, lack of information, non working WIFI, and general messiness… But, we arrived late and took a deep breath. The room was surprisingly large, comfortable beds, very clean and super quiet, minor issues..old towels, no hot water, no ice, and not a glass to be had. After 2 days, the WiFI was working, all the towels replaced, the pool finally looked great, and the staff during the day helpful and friendly We stayed 7 nights, and we all agreed that we would return, knowing that our expectations have been adjusted. In summary the location, the value, the noise level, the staff are all very good. The down side is the lack of amenities, with some little additions this really could be special, until then it just met our needs..

Property was nice and very reasonably priced for being on the beach. They had a nice shaded patio area facing the ocean for reading and relaxing. Pool area was nice, but I didn't spend a lot of time there. Staff was very helpful and professional. The only complaint is that the power went out for 24 hours. A bit of an inconvenience but I would stay there again.

Great location. Rooms have been updated with nice bathrooms, fridge and AC units. Needs a safe to store valuables and passports. Beach towels were not easily accessible. Some days you could get towels and on some ocassions beach towels were denied by the front office. Pool area was dirty. Pool had leaves in it and the water was murky. Outdoor beach areas had limited seating and frequently were full of empty cans and garbage.

end of Nov 2025 the hotel is under renovation, drilling will disturb you from 8 am until 6pm. It looks like works should be done by Jan '26. Despite the noise I had a great stay, initially planned to stay for 2 nights but ended up extending to 4 nights. Great location, A/C works great, TV with cable tv with some channels in english, hot water and the hotel is in ok shape. Wifi is good enough to watch netflix on the ipad in the evenings, but I don't think the signal is good enough for video calls, I had one on my phone and the video and audio lagged . The hotel is basic but comfortable. The highlight is the beach area with the lounge chairs under a proper hut to protect you from the sun. The town is tinny but you've got what you need for an enjoyable stay. There's a coffee shop by the entrance, some bakeries, and plenty of restaurants around. Nights are peaceful with no noise. I'm a female traveling solo and felt safe and comfortable during my stay. The hotel staff is kind, friendly and helpful. I'm definitely coming back after the renovations are finished.

Great Location

This basic hotel was a great find. Ocean front, steps to great restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly. Originally booked 2 nights and ended up extending the stay. Great value for the location.

I arrived at hotel to book for the night, connected to their wifi but it was very slow and got disconnected and the site ended up changing the dates with a new session that I didn’t notice til my confirmation. A guest walks out the back of this property directly onto the beautiful beach or out the front directly onto main street. The hotel is quiet, seems secure, adequate lighting without being too bright and glaring. The pool and surroundings looked great, but I didn't go in since the ocean was right there. Room staff very attentive and in and out by mid-morning. I extended my original reservation and will go back.

Where do I start… the destination was good, on the main ave, so easy access to everything. However, parking lot capacity was only 3 cars, the wifi and internet connection was nil, completely non-existent, so don’t go expecting to do anything online!!! There was no way possible to access the tv as it is ONLY a Samsung tv so your iPhone is useless but without no wifi/internet it was useless anyway! There was no use of the pool, yes it was being renovated but state that in a message or give me a discount because literally non of the amenities mentioned were available! Yes there is access to the beach, however there are but 2 benches and 4 beach beds-which are occupied by the long term expats (although they really were the kindest people) on the daily-so don’t expect to get a place to spend a beach day! There was no real service for bevies, but the restaurant next fore will come serve you and they have palapas for use there, so there is access to that! The best part, the water was hot! For price meh, it I think I would suggest spending the extra and get the full deal with all the amenities that actual exist!

Staff were terrific. Welcoming and very attentive. Can't beat the location. The room is very basic but very clean. The bed was very comfortable - great mattress. Overall the room met my needs. I'd have liked it better if the internet worked more often and better and if there'd been a secure locker/safe to keep things. Having said that I'd definitely return.
