Overall we had a great stay at the Estalagem do Mar. The staff was very friendly and helpful with last minute accommodations and present to help with any other needs. It was a 3 minute walk away from a little downtown area with restaurants, a convenience store, gift shop, and little stands that are open on the weekends. Would stay here again if we visit Madeira island again! Free parking on the facility was also a huge plus for us!

Ok for one night

Overpriced but fabulous location for one night. Think travelodge before renovations. I was a female solo traveller and it suited my plans and felt safe. Staff lovely, easy check in/out and easy to park at the hotel or opposite. Nice little touristy town. My room was clean but missing a net curtain and as it was ground floor I couldn’t open the curtains as people walked past. If I was there more than one night I would have asked to move. Slow WiFi, but it worked, no tv signal. Dust fell off the main curtain each time I shut it. Double glazing needs replacing as it’s not clear, but once I managed to open the door (dodgy lock) there was a fabulous view. Great shower cubicle and pressure, but dirty shower head and sink. No kettle, this is a standard hotel requirement at this price, this needs addressing urgently. Woodwork has rust coming out of it. Definitely needs a renovation, but I wouldn’t spend £87 here again. Breakfast was Ok, no juice on offer but nice coffee machine and a basic range of hot and cold offerings, enough to keep you going. I didn’t see anyone in the pools. The bed was actually really comfortable and it was nice to have a proper double bed. I would return at half the price as it is in a great spot and the staff were really nice, and not their fault the hotel is tired and overpriced. I walked past the Calomar and it looks much newer so sadly I’d choose that place next time.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer. Es hat eine umfangreiche Infrastruktur mit allem was man benötigt. Gym, Sauna, Whirlpool, Innen- und Aussenpool etc. Die Parkplätze sind gratis. Allgemein hat es ein gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Das Bett war allerdings extrem hart und für uns unbequem. Je nach Wtter ist das Meer recht laut.

L'hotel était bien dans l'ensemble pour le prix, mais les draps de la chambres n'étaient pas très propre et le wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Le petit déjeuner de l'hotel est assez bien : fruits, pain, oeuf, charcuteries, fromages, céréales mais il n'était pas très étoffé. Le personnel était très gentil.

Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für Madeira. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war sehr groß und es gab jeden Tag kleine Änderungen. Es wurde auch bis zum Ende frische Ware nachgelegt, sodass nie etwas vergriffen war am Buffet. Man hat das Gefühl, dass sich seitens des Personals Mühe gegeben wird. Im Prinzip empfehlenswert - ruhige Lage, top Frühstück, atemberaubende Aussicht (jedes Zimmer hat Meerblick), gute Austattung mit Innen- und Außenpool, Whirlpool, Sauna, Billard, Tischtennis, Tennisplatz, Fitnessraum und schöne Hotelbar mit Aussicht auf den Ozean. Die Zimmer und der Speisesaal sind modernisiert und sauber, allerdings ist der Rest der Anlage ist leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen, da seit der Eröffnung 1990 nicht allzuviel saniert wurde. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt und würden wiederkommen. Im Prinzip kann man dieses Hotel weiterempfehlen, man darf allerdings nicht zu viel erwarten.

Estadia top.

Correu muito bem. O quarto era muito tranquilo, bem insonorizado, com uma vista fabulosa para o mar. Muito bom pequeno-almoço buffer. Não jantámos porque preferimos ir a um restaurante local. Chegámos cansados de uma longa caminhada e soube muito bem ir ao jacuzzi e à sauna.
