Sarteneja-Where the sun meets the water!!!

Fernando will make your dreams come true!!! The place was clean and had air conditioning (which does really matter in Belize!!). Right on the sea and in the middle of a quaint fishing village, take the time to visit!!

We came down to Santenjega and stayed at Fernando' Seaside Guesthouse for 4 nights. We were greeted by a loud, barking dog, who wouldn't let us into the lobby to check in. Our drive to the village had been total misery and all we wanted to do when we arrived at the hotel was to nap, but when we first arrived our room was not prepared/cleaned, so we waited 30 minutes for the room to be cleaned. The AC had not been turned on so the room was about 85° F, as someone who takes medications that make me sensitive to heat, a nap was impossible. The room was not a comfortable temperature until well into the evening (11pm or later). The matresses were rock hard, not an issue for me, but made my older parents sore. The pillows were no better, and I suffered a headache the first night because the pillows were nearly solid. The curtians, in our sun-facing room, were thin, so when the sun rose, our room was blasted with the full force of the sun, making it bright, but also excessively hot during the day. Only 1 half roll of toilet paper was available on our first day, and NO rolls were stored in the bathroom. We had to ask for more rolls from the lobby, which of course were also half-used, and eventually just bought a package from the nearby market. The reason we bought our own was due to when we asked for more toilet paper, the woman working in the lobby, before giving us the toilet paper, told us not to keep the AC on while we were out of the room (this, of course, would have made the

Fernando Jr. was a great host. Room was fantastic- great view, clean, strong AC, warm water shower. Would recommend!
