One of the few times we have stayed at a B&B. Shelley was a surprise. Before coming we had alerted them that my wife, Virginia, had had several knee operations and stairs might be a problem. We received a personal call from Shelley describing in kindly detail the number of stairs and her concern. The low number of stairs was not a problem, and the overnight stay was great. Very sweetly handled. all was very clean. Breakfast was super; had a fantastic overlook of the river. Her husband Pat also very friendly describing the superb fishing that was locally available. Highly recommended
Stunning views of Umpqua River right about Dr of the deck. Watch the bald eagles snag breakfast in the morning! As many before have stated Pat and Shelly make you feel right at home. Shelly’s breakfasts are to die for
Staying at daybreak was an amazing time. We only wish we could stay longer. The rooms were beautiful as with everything else in the guest house. We were able to go out on the deck and go down and do fishing. Eat outside. And that the delight on the last day with the most unbelievable breakfast was such a treat. We felt like we were treated like kings and queens. It is an amazing quiet place to stay where you just can kick back relax and have a great time.
Daybreak Haven is in a small town off the main highway. It was a bit challenging to find it in the dark when we had late arrival. The proprietor stay up late with the lights on to greet us. The B&B is the top floor of the home and the innkeepers live downstairs, so they are literally welcoming you into their own home. They visited with us the next morning and provided a lovely hot breakfast. There is a river that runs right behind the B&B, a gorgeous setting!! If you book a longer stay during salmon season, you might be able to arrange a fishing expedition with Pat. Be aware, they do have a dog in the house in case you have allegy issues. The dog is well-behaved and likes to go fishing with visitors!
Our stay in Daybreak Haven was perfect on all accounts. The location is gorgeous, quiet and peaceful. The house is warm and cosy. And most of all, our hosts were very kind and hospitable. Thank you so much for this great time.
Wonderful hosts, excellent service, clean facilities, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and amazing views of the Umpqoua River. I wish we could stay a bit longer but we only had reservation for one night at this location during our Pacific Nortwest road trip due to our tight schedule.
Thank you Pat and Shelly for your gracious hospitality. We loved your place so much that we decided to return, as soon as we can.

SNAFU
This is a review of Expedia. About twenty minutes after I booked the room, the innkeeper called to say that they didn't have any rooms available. She was very help in directing us to another inn nearby, which was less elegant, but more than acceptable. Expedia's automated service refunded our payment, although it is too soon to verify it by the credit card statement; however, we heard from the Daybreak Haven innkeeper that Expedia called her to complain about the incident. So far, from our viewpoint, things have been adequately resolved, but one should be cautious about verification of reservations.
None of the ratings above have anything to do with the subject inn. We never saw it, but those responses are required by this survey.
Beautiful views of Umpqua River, quite and peaceful setting, excellent breakfast, hosts are the friendliest people ever, make you feel at home in their idyllic river front country home!
I would definitely stay here again! The room was very clean and comfortable. The hostess was friendly, but tried not to interfere with us enjoying our time there. She made a superb breakfast in the morning too! There is a local restaurant that is not much to look at, but the food was good and inexpensive. We loved watching the birds from the deck area!
(Quick note - there are 3 friendly dogs!)
Shelley and Pat are wonderful hosts! They are so friendly, we felt like family the instant we arrived. Our room had a beautiful view, extremely comfortable beds, and an attached bathroom. We had our own thermostat. The decorations were homey and fantastic. It really felt like being at home!
In the morning Shelly greeted us with fresh-made crepes, fresh-whipped cream and berries on top. She was making bacon, but when I asked if it was nitrate-free (I get migraines otherwise), she just said she would make me sausages instead like it was absolutely nothing. Mind you, she was making breakfast for the other couple at the same time.
After breakfast, the other couple went out rowing, but we stuck around to talk with our hosts. They are so interesting and fun to talk with! Shelly gave us FOUR fresh blueberry muffins for the road (they were delicious!) and even when she and Pat had to go to the store and lock up the house, they let us hang out in the river on their dock. We waded for an hour in the river, which is amazingly warm and clear.
This is the best B&B my husband and I have ever stayed at. We lamented leaving all the way to our next destination. We weren't considering coming back to Oregon anytime soon... but Daybreak Haven has changed that. We can't wait to come back!
Daybreak was out final resting stop on a week long Pacific coast trip. It is a perfect place to wind down and relax. The owners took great care in making the experience pleasant, and Shelley's cooking will not disappoint.
What a find this was! If you're traveling the Oregon coastal area and looking for a place to stay other than your typical beach town options, this is well worth the drive from Rt. 101. The house sits on the Umpqua River and is very comfy and relaxing. Our room was great, breakfast in the morning was delicious and we so enjoyed our conversations with the hosts and other guests. Will definitely go back here if we ever find ourselves in western Oregon again!
The Day Break Haven is in a wonderful setting by the river with some lovely walks to enjoy.
We could not have been made more welcome. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. My wife found the bed a little soft but it was fine for me.
Breakfast was delicious and we did not need to eat again until the evening.
Very welcoming owners. Was like visiting family. Breakfast was amazing and the room was super cozy. The river behind the house was gorgeous.

Spent two nights here during our month long trip around Oregon and north Califoria. In simple words, great place, great B & B, great food and great hosts. It doesn't come much better than this if you want real America.
Great setting right on the Umpqua River. The owners are great hosts and provided a really good breakfast. I am definitely returning during the spring salmon run to stay again and try some Umpqua salmon fishing. The B&B is close to the coast (20 minutes) so you can stay and just run over to the beach for a little surf and turf time then return to the quiet and calm of their home. They have a great deck that overlooks the river and small float boats and gear for a little bass fishing in off salmon times if you are inclined. Highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Daybreak Haven B&B. It was cozy, peaceful and very comfortable. We stayed in the river view room and slept like babies with the windows open to the sound of the peaceful river. Shelly is an amazing cook! Her breakfasts were delicious and very filling :-) We would definitely stay there again!
Arrived after a long drive and could not have been made to feel more welcome. This is an absolutely perfect place to get away from it all, very comfy, homey feel, freedom to sit on the deck and watch the wildlife (I saw a bald eagle fly along the creek) or just idle time away. Very nice to have a wide selection of DVDs available to watch or the cable TV.
Stayed for 2 days. Owners are great very friendly like staying with friends. They do have 2 small dogs NOT a problem at all. We asked to see them :) . Shelly makes the best food ! Crepes in the morning were delicious ! Lots of food . Pat is very well versed on fishing in the area. They have boats you can use. We will deffinatly stay agin when in the area. It's beautiful to watch the water right out the back door .. Thanks Shelly & Pat for making us so welcome !
