Floor of our room in corners were dirty and had a dead spider. Trash can on 3rd floor by the elevator was full and never emptied while we were there. We saw the same Cheerios bowl every time we went to the elevator. Positives were the staff and the breakfast was well stocked with lots of options.

Soap dispenser at bathroom sink empty and had to reload it myself w/o the special key. Thought it was a fluke but overheard 2 others at front desk asking for soap containers. Bathroom floor was dirty in corners and edges.

Got into the shower and this property only to find there was no soap conditioner or body wash. The soap dispenser at the sink was empty and very little lotion. When I approached customer service, they rambled through a drawer to try to find me small bottles of each, but offered nothing else.

The staff were not the friendliest or even helpful. None of our issues were addressed with any sort of care or follow through. Even after we left and I forgot a sentimental item in our room. No one cared to find it and call me back. Instead they claimed they didn’t have it as if I lied about forgetting it. And their policy is to keep everything in lost and found for 30 days. They obviously either kept it or threw it out. The rooms smelled. There was no hand soap in our room and the front desk host didn’t know how to replace it. They don’t inform or even advertise that pets are allowed on every floor and every room. So our allergies were never considered and ignored. I had to ask for new bedding and I sprayed our rooms with Lysol I brought from home. The elevator smelled like wet animals every day. We love pets. We have our own that don’t effect our allergies. But we ensure our living spaces are always clean and fresh. You’d think a hotel would care even more. For a new hotel I wasn’t impressed. I know I won’t stay at a TRU again.

Our first time there and we got in later than expected. Branden at the desk was extremely helpful to us. Very professional and personable. I liked that the room did not have carpets or upholstery. Simple, clean, practical furniture. Big tv with very good reception. Roomy bathroom with walk-in shower. Cleanest bathroom I’ve seen. Housekeeping staff was very accommodating and pleasant. We’ll definitely stay there again. One suggestion is for the hotel to order some more luggage carts😂. Only two for the entire hotel. Maybe most people travel lighter than we do and don’t need one!😂

Breakfast had many options. Beds were large and comfortable with extra pillows. Elevators were fast. Indoor pool access at DoubleTree was welcome. Free easy parking. Easy drive to dining and shopping and attractions. Enjoyed Old Orchard Beach: sand and ocean and Sunset Grill Lobster. Fun at Portland waterfront, especially lobster at Porthole Restaurant lobster
